Latinos are mostly Democrats everywhere except Florida, so unless it’s a crossover state McCain can’t rely on a massive Latino vote. Still, the Latino vote in California is so huge that even if only a few are Republicans it could have an impact.

Still, the Latino vote in California is so huge that even if only a few are Republicans it could have an impact. I am looking at the most recent SurveyUSA GOP primary poll. They use a sample that is 17% Hispanic.
If I understand the CA rules correctly, a RAT or independent can vote in the GOP primary only by changing registration and pretending to be a Republican.
