That's why I carry at the mall and anywhere else I happen to go. And when I get home, I don't put my pistol up. Although I live in an upscale neighborhood, that's no guarantee that a home invasion can't happen. Anymore you need to be prepared all the time.
This bears repeating. I do the same now. My cousin (who was no criminal and didn't mingle with any) was killed in a home invasion about 3 weeks ago. Being armed at all times is the key to your security. Anything else is pablum.
