Stats?

What? You don't know how to do research?

Biological fathers are 1/58th to 1/234th as likely as mothers to murder their own children.

Of the 27 solved homicides against children, 23 were killed by a parent: 9 by a father, 4 by a step-father, 10 by a mother and 1 by a step-mother (in one incident, both parents were accused). In addition, 2 children were killed by their day-care provider and 2 by a stranger.

Predominantly women, not men, kill children

Mothers and step-mothers were slightly more responsible than fathers and step-fathers for killing their children for children under the age of 15yrs [eg 55% ?].

those are women bashing sites so I don't trust them...

stats can be pulled up, down, inside , or out.....just to make a point...

I don't know how a thread about a man executing 5 women somehow got around to attacking women as more "dangerous" to children, but leave it to the women bashers to find a way.....

absolutely useless stats.

people see a percent sign and get all wobbly.

you have to look at more than numbers. i have no experience with the subject matter, but off hand i'd say one reason your numbers show the trend of mothers being more dangerous than men is because mothers have much more interactions with kids than father do.

think about it. if you have a single mother, the biological dad might spend zero time with the kid while the mother spends almost all the time with the kid. so of course mothers are more likely to kill, as a whole.

but my guess is that if you were able to breakdown the numbers as who kills more as a percentage of the total amount of time spent with kids, males would be MUCH MUCH higher than females proportionally.

see tagline.

wow. i just looked at those sites you cited. i should not have wasted my time. a bunch of dads defending other dads by spewing bogus stats. thanks for the laugh.

the fact i take away is that for the proportional difference in time that men spend with kids compared to women, it's amazing how high the violence rate is for the men.
