"Well, I didn't vote for Broccoli. He has a funny name.""Broccoli? Who's Broccoli?"
"Broccoli Bah-ma. He's a funny man."
The kid's onto something. Broccoli or Barack. Both are vegetables.

I wonder how many other Hillary/Obama voters will be watching Noggin after they vote?

unfortunately, that thought process is awfully close to the way adults are voting.

"I like her," pointing to Hillary. "Uhhh, but why do you want to vote for her?"
"She's nice."
"Actually, she's not."
"She's nice. I can tell."
The exact logic millions of single women will be using in November. ;)

If my 5 YO told me she liked Hellary I’d put her up for adoption. It’s just something to consider.

I listened to a Barack speech yesterday. He outlined his entire platform.
The man is even scarier than Hillary, and I never thought I’d say that.

The first time I ever heard Obama speak was election night ‘04. I didn’t even hear the whole speech. But at that moment I predicted a Hillary/Obama ticket for this year. Not positive about that anymore, but I still think it’s probable.

Since when do 5-year-olds call home from school?
To: the_devils_advocate_666
I don’t know. I was never allowed to either. Seemed like the teacher has a bunch of the kids phone home to see how their parents voted.

I was listening to Laura Ingraham yesterday when I picked up my five year old. Ingraham had a guest on that mentioned "Obama" repeatedly.
My daughter asked me what "Obama" was. I told her "Omaha" is where we usually go at Easter and how we like the zoo.
She asked again. I told her "Okinawa is an island in the ocean between Taiwan and Kyushu."
She repeated her query. I said, "Oh, Bambi, was that baby deer that had the funny little rabbit friend named 'Thumper'."
She asked again, protesting that it sounded like a person. I finally said, "Obama is an empty vessel of a man that some people mistakenly believe is somehow qualified and competent enough to be President."
She said, "Oh, will we have time to stop at home before I go to swimming lessons?"
I doubt he will come up again in conversation. She is only five years old- the only politician she recognizes is Senator Thune- and that is because of his Christmas cards.

I’m surprised Barry isn’t more popular with the under 10 set.
His campaign so far has the depth of content of the
Bob the Builder
theme song.

HA -- great story!
My wife and I are curious why our girl came home complaining about stereotypical Republicans who hate the poor. Oh well, my teachers were nearly all liberals (several were activists) and that just made me more of a die-hard conservative.

When my son was four years old he was riding in the back seat while I listened to the radio.
Announcer: “And today President Clinton said blah, blah, blah.”
My son: “Mom, did you hear what Clinton said?
Me: “Yes, dear.”
Him: “Well, if Clinton said it, it must be a lie.”

My little girl turned six a couple days ago, and when I was driving to the polls and in the booth she was demanding the vote so she could vote for McCain (”He has the best name, and he was in World War I and he was in prison for seventy years, and he stayed with his friends, and that was nice, and some people think he’s too old, but I like his name and I think he’s going to win - let me vote - it’s not fair - you vote for McCain - okay you vote for both of them...”)
