What it does represent is Romney laying the groundwork for whoever finally wins the nomination.

Good point.

Coulter’s not supporting Hillary either - her statement clearly was hyperbole to show how unacceptable McCain is. I’m frankly surprised at how many people are willing to take Coulter’s comment at face value - she’s known for her sarcasm, wit and intential overstatement, for goodness’ sake!

The good news is that 90% of freepers supported Thompson or Hunter, these two combined got less than 5% of the total vote in the real world.

McCain may be the GOP nominee, BUT.....he will never make it to the white house.....Hillary is waiting for the general election and she will open her trunk and pull out all the nasty stuff on McCain, including the past voting record. She will eat his lunch, slam dunk him with the medias help, and walk right over him to the white house. Wait and see, you vote for McCain is a vote for Hilliary,( and I dont give a damn how I spell her name). George Soros hand is in her pants and in McCains Pocket..The general Election is going to be a nasty affair. I don’t like Hillairy, nor do I like McCain, and I aint votin fo no Bamma

That’s just plain stupid. People like you will give this election to the Democrats, and you’d better not complain when things go sour. If you don’t vote you don’t have the right to complain. I’m just frustrated as hell by all you babies who intend to stay home and pout if you aren’t happy with the Republican that gets the nomination. Any Republican is better than a Democrat, especially when Democrats control Congress and the Senate. A Republican president will appoint better judges. He’ll be there to veto any particularly obnoxious Democrat legislation. You may not agree with him on everything he does but the likelihood the government will do what you want is better with a Republican president than with a Democrat as president, especially when Congress and the Senate are controlled by Democrats.

Number one, I am going to vote, just not for a liberal. I only vote for conservatives.

Number two, I will complian, that’s my point. It will be much easier and effective to complain wth a Dem in the Whitehouse than a Liberal Republican.

Three, what kind of obnoxious dem legislation will McCain veto? Amnesty? Higher Taxes? Global Warming reugulations? Restrictions on free speech?

Yeah, didn’t think so.

Sorry, the GOP establishment gave this election to the Dems. I will not vote for McCain that puking liberal. Unless Romney pulls out California, this election is basically over...and we lose to Big to Obama or Hill/Bill. They will win the most Southern states probably since the 50/60s...and 2016 will be a total Landslide and realignment.

"Hillary has my vote too if McInsane is the GOP nominee"

Wow, you not only retreat when times are tough, you join with the enemy. I'm glad your not in the military. I think you can come up with a better stradegy than that. We need to come together to keep Hillary (or Obama) out, not vote for her.

““who do our enemies want to be elected POTUS & who do they fear the most?”

I doubt that they fear any of them. They are laughing their asses off about now.
We are light years away from another RR as POTUS.

It is supposed to advance the conservative cause by sending the lunkheads who run the RNC and similar organizations a very pointed message - stop sending us RINOs/faux conservatives to vote for.

If Ann said that, I classify her in the same boat as many others. They are put in the Dumber than Dog Crap category. I will vote for McPain 10 times out of 10 rather than give the Hildabeast 1/2 a chance.

I have yet to understand why sitting it out to Hillary’s benefit or actually supporting Hillary helpss the conservative cause. McCains stinks on some issues. Hillary stinks on ALL issues.

Supporting four or eight years of Clinton re-dux is NOT a principled, conservative position.

“I know of boat loads of FReepers that will join in on indirectly helping hillary rather than voting for mccain as well. They will help a socialist they disagree with 100% rather than vote for someone they disagree with to a lesser degree. Brilliant.”

Personally, I’ll probably vote for McCain, but I understand the position of the Freepers who not vote for president or who will write in a candidate. If Republican presidential candidates know that all conservatives will vote for them even if they are only 1% more conservative than the Democrat, why should the candidates take them seriously?

I will never vote McCain. I think something is wrong with him mentally. For the good of the nation I will vote Hillary—as someone said “evil trumps crazy.”

"For the good of the nation I will vote Hillary—"

WHAT? And you get mad at McCain for siding with Democrats? McCain may be a moderate/liberal that sides with with the democrats, but you are willing to vote to have Hillary as President? That kind of betrayal is worse than any betrayal McCain has ever pulled. People around here need to grow up before they decide to vote.
