“I prefer Romney because he’s the only legitimate candidate who has both executive and business leadership experience.”

The truth is that John is on his second career, besides the normal leadership training and challenges of a military officer, he also very successfully led a command of a 1000 men and 75 aircraft, the largest squadron in the country.

I’m open to most criticism of McCain but it is absurd to say that he can’t lead, or has never done it, let’s face it one reason we have been unable to get rid of him is because of his leadership skills.

If Romney had to rely on his leadership instead of his money, Mitt would have never made to this point.

What was the final percentages, does anyone know ?

Good question. I heard Romney had 41% before McCain and Huckabee delegates colluded to outvote Romney delegates.

The radio, I think it was the Hannity Show, said that Huckabee finished with 52% and Romney had 47%.

I think it was 52% Huckabee, 47% Romney, 1% McCain. Narrow. Anyone else find different numbers?

From what I read his move up was only because of his family connections. He was moving up and others who should have been promoted were passed on.

First ballot:

* Romney 464
* Huckabee 375
* McCain 176
* Paul 118
1,133 total votes

Paul was gone for round two.

The second ballot results were:

* Huckabee 524
* Romney 479
* McCain 11
1,014 total votes
Thus, 119 did not vote on the 2nd ballot; Romney gained 15 votes on the 2nd ballot; Huckabee gained 149; McCain lost 161.

Whoops, posted after you posted your numbers. We’re probably right since I got mine from a different source. Very narrow win margin for McCain, er, I mean Huckabee.

“Yup, and that is the kind of sh@@ we are dealing with. Some like this crap because all is fair in love and war. What a sad Country we now live in. Unfortunately this is not a game.”

I had honestly sworn I’d vote for the Republican no matter what in the general. With this bit of underhanded nonsense, I won’t vote for Huckabee or McCain in the general. Period.

Looks like McCain promised to give Huckabee the Vice-Presidential nomination.

This is absolute crap. Talk about dishonorable politics. This is one of the slimiest moves I’ve ever seen.

Huckabee may well prove to be the Ross Perot of the primaries.

I too have been disgusted with Hannity’s bull-crap over the last couple of weeks. His insinuations and comments bear no resemblance to the truth. Shame on him.

Romney campaign manager Beth Myers said in a statement: "[T]his is what Senator McCain's inside Washington ways look like: he cut a backroom deal with the tax-and-spend candidate he thought could best stop Governor Romney's campaign of conservative change.

And I'm sure she said this with a straight face. I don't know how, but I'm sure she did.

That would be like Hillary claiming to be running a "campaign of slim ankles."

These shenanigans and their result make me feel nauseous. They are more strategy than substance. If McCain - or Huckabee for that matter- can’t win on their merits without sculduggery, I cannot vote for either in November.

Thanks....... I’d not seen the numbers but I was sure there were out there somewhere. Smart move by McCain I guess to shut down Romney’s win. Alliances are made in most endeavors where for good or bad I guess.

Again thanks.
