Thanks - am listening to the President of that college - said 12 students (male) were trapped when the tornado hit the campus.

All have been rescued except for 3.

At this point rescuers are talking to the 3 who are still trapped.

Extensive damage to the campus - this in Jackson, TN.

Glad you got this new thread going.

Here’s a quote from CNN latest update:

(CNN) — A family of three and four others were killed in Arkansas and the Tennessee Secretary of State was forced to close some polling places in the western part of the state after several destructive tornadoes tracked through the area Tuesday evening.

The family of two adults and one child was killed in Pope County, Arkansas, where five people were also transported to local hospitals, Pope County Judge Jim Ed Gibson told CNN.

Do you have a link to the UU president’s report of the damage on campus? My son is a junior at Union. He’s OK and is riding out the storms at his girlfriend’s grandparents house.

We are under a watch in soutwestern Ohio and are due to get storms in a few hours. I am hoping we don’t get hit with a tornado. Thanks for the updates.

OH sorry was just listening to it live on http://www.wmctv.com/

He said all the students there at the college stayed calm and worked together to help each other. There is substantial damage. I believe he said the school’s classes are suspended til ....not sure but thought it was mid February.

Maybe this station would answer a call and give you more info:

Yies! And it looks like also a warning in Alexandria, LA too! According to TWC this is a record outbreak for Feb. This has been going on all evening - would have been big news if not for the primary

Apparently a pumping station on a major natural gas pipeline blew up Northeast of Nashville. Either a tornado or lightning, I’d guess. Flames 400 ft. in the air.

Thank you for the info. My son called awhile ago and said he was OK and he promised to call if there are any other developments. He said Jackson was in the path of a couple more lines of storms which might produce more tornadoes. That’s what I’m worried about now.
