If Romney backs out or loses, ... I guess I'll vote for a Democrat.

Yeah, well, he’s probably a Jew in Hollywood and NYC, too.
Didn’t hillary discover a Jewish grandmother when she ran in NY?

I’m surprised this sort of baloney works.

Quit embarrassing us.
ABC News Bret Hovell Reports:
McCains presidential campaign says he has been attending (North Phoenix Baptist) the Phoenix area church for more than 15 years.
Curiosity about his religion was sparked Sunday when McCain, who has long been identified as an Episcopalian, was asked what role his Episcopal faith plays in his life.
It plays a role in my life. By the way, Im not Episcopalian. Im Baptist, McCain told the Associated Press after a rally in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
McCains wife, Cindy, is Baptist and so are their children. The campaign describes his faith as a private matter.

Waterboarding has been demonstrated as one of the most very effective means of extracting the truth in very short order. Is it a surprise to anybody why McKeating might oppose the practice?

Mr. Franklin was quite prescient when he admonished, "a republic, if you can keep it."
It seems to me more and more every day that we can not.

Eisenhower didn’t belong to a church until he decided to run for president. Reportedly, he asked Billy Graham which religion he should join and the Presbyterian Church was suggested.

The Blessed Republic was lost the day senators became elected by popularity contest (popular vote). No longer was the best interest of the States a concern, let’s take it straight to the mob.

McCain's g-grandfather (mother's side) was an Episcopal bishop. It probably isn't politically beneficial to be an Episcopalian these days, what with The Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori leading the church and Vickie-Gene heading its diocese in New Hampshire. Then, again, the church has always been strange in that it is more Roman Catholic than Protestant in liturgical beliefs and practice (especially in its higher forms) yet is more and more Baptist in governmental arrangements (here in Va., there are currently 11 parishes voting to break from the Diocese's yoke).
I believe, though, McCain would have a hard time being re-baptised a Baptist because, like Bush and the majority of America's presidents, he grew up inculcated with the Nicean Creed.

More than half (70%?) of American presidents have been Anglican or Episcopalian

Not even close.

Another example of how arrogant McCain is. You don’t become a member of a Southern Baptist church unless you have a Baptist baptism.
To: FFranco
Billy Graham actually led Ike to the Lord, and he was baptized after the election. Quite a difference.
To: Coldwater Creek; SunkenCiv
I was of the impression that McCain was anti-Christian, after the speech he made denouncing evangelical leaders, when he campaigned in South Carolina eight years ago.

Even Satan worshipers can be baptized in a Baptist church, as long as, they have had a personal salvation experience. I have been a Southern Baptist for all of my 67 years, and have never known someone to become a member, just because they say that they are.
To: Berosus
I think that if McCain was on trial for being a Christan, there would be little evidence to convict him.
