In Alabama, I think the blacks came out in droves here for Obama. He beat Hillary up here.

I told my husband last night that if HIllary wins, we sell the house, the condo, I quit my job and we go on welfare - might as well since she’ll take it from us anyway!

The Dems had higher primary turnouts in 1980, so I wouldn’t worry just yet.

I think it is the result of the anti-Obama voters working their darndest to make sure Obama is not the nominee amid a huge black turnout for Obama.

Makes you wonder why it is ok for blacks to vote 90% for Obama without a question about why this isn’t reverse racism.

My wife has a very nice 401k and we are retired and using it and my military retirement as well. My wife is really on pins and needles about Hillary and her threat to tax all 401k’s 15% right off the bat and still tax the rest. She said she would pull it out, pay off our mortgage before she gave 15% to Hillary.

These high turnout numbers are not new voters, they are the same people that now decided to make sure their candidate is the nominee.

The Democrats are splitting wide over Hillary & Obama. HIspancis will not vote for Obama and are turning out in primaries to get Hillary on the ticket. Blacks will not go to the polls in November if they think Obama was cheated of the nomination and are turning out in mass to make sure he is the nominee. Means nothing in the long run; these are the sure voters anyway.

There is a possibility that the Hillary vs. Obama show is a clever diversion designed to keep attention on the Democrats and avoid the appearance of a coronation for Hillary. At convention time, they may “make up”, with Obama as the VP candidate, and the heir presumptive in 2016. That prospect will bring out the black vote almost as effectively as if Obama won the Democrat nomination. Meanwhile, if history is any indication, McCain will alienate conservatives out of sheer perversity. Steve Forbes has already mentioned that Kay Bailey Hutchison (RINO - TX) will be the VP nominee, although his statement may just be a trial balloon. This is no way to hold the conservative base, nor is allowing Bob Dole publicly scold Rush Limbaugh.

I could not disagree more. There is no way Obama is going to settle for VP for 8 years. He will immediately plan a 2012 run for the Presidency. His ego is too large to take second place. As far as Conservatives taking their ball home and not playing; I hope they are more adult than that.

Has anyone determined how many Republicans voted in the Democrat primary to keep Hillary or Barack from getting the nomination? How many Democrats voted in the Republican primary to get the most Liberal candidate on the GOP ballot? I think this is the unreported story.
