Hate to post this, even as a Huck supporter, but I think both Huck and Romney are needed to deny McCain the win and bring this to a contested convention. Huck may be able to do it alone . . . but easier if they double team McCain.

Serious question:

What exactly are the policy differences between Huckabee and McCain? I can't see anything substantive.

...Both have been weak on illegal immigration.

...Both are weak on tax cuts.

...Both are pro-life (or say they are).

...Both seem to favor big government and the regulatory impositions that come with it.

...Both have willingly indulged in class warfare.

...Neither seem to favor drilling ANWR or realistically moving toward energy independence.

...Well, so far as I know, Huck hasn't been duped by the global-warming hoax. That's a point in his favor.

...Both are presumably committed to fight the war in Iraq to a successful conclusion. Given his military background, McCain might be better on this issue...but I have my doubts.

...I haven't heard either of them, though, address what happens after Iraq. I'd like to hear some assurances that the War on Terror isn't over once Iraq is secure.

“Careful with the judgments nmh. The standard gets applied to you in the end . . .”

I’m fine with that.

I make JUDGMENT CALLS all the time.

My GOD calls for that:

John.7:24

[24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

My GOD doesn’t want me to be “relative”.

My GOD doesn’t want me to be cowardly in making CORRECT JUDGEMENT CALLS - perhaps yours does?

McCain and the Huckster are LIBERALS and their god is not the same as my God. They don’t show Biblical Christianity in their political stances. My God doesn’t approve of socialism or humanism - McCain and Huckabee advocates both.

Yes, I am aware of Mitt stepping down. He is a gracious man - unlike Huckabee ... . My advantage is that I know genuine Christianity and genuine conservatism when I see it. Your disadvantage is that you don't have a clue ... .

Huck is more able to take a credible anti-amnesty position on immigration. He’s also more likely than McCain to nominate conservatives to the courts. He’s also able to oppose McCain-Fiengold; McCain-Kennedy, etc. Hucks the more conservative candidate.

Rather than make further predictions, let’s just wait a week and the reality will become clear.

I don’t think Huckabee had anything to do with that
back room deal in West Virginia. Having, worked the
polls myself for many years, although not a caucus,
we the people have great minds of our own and seeing
a loss for someone else that can help a win for another.
That is why the whole caucus crap is a bunch of bull.

I agree regarding West Virginia. Voters are smart enough to know the interests of their own candidate.

I have never worked a poll where we got a call from a
candidate to do anything like that. The candidates
are busy running there campaign.

However, with a caucus situation, it leaves the delegates
to decide for themselves who to through there vote for.

BS.. this claim of cross partying etc is nonsense... its pinhead talking point nonsense.

Look at the Democratic turnouts in those open primary states, you’ll see democrats turned out in large numbers. Now you can continue your conspiracy theory that dems stole the elections, or you recognize the fact that if they were changing registration and voting in the Rs the R turn ballots would have been far higher than they were, and the Ds would have been down. McCain also has won closed primaries as well, such as california, and done so by good margins.

Registered Republicans have been voting for McCain, more than Mitt or Huck, and you can whine about it, but its the truth.

THese people who think “They and they alone are republicans” are dillusional. Registered republicans are a far greater group than the vocal noncontents who are whining.

What you should be recognizing is if the person you think is the bee’s knees candidate can’t even win a primary, and no Mitt has not performed at all.. has been footing the bill for his campaign himself for a quite a while, is not someone who can remotely win a General.

So stop whining, everyone was out there, your guy didn’t win its because he could not motivate enough people to show up and vote for him, simple as that.

What does it profit a man if he gains the world but loses his soul ?

We're not talking about my soul here. We're talking about politics.

If you believe that you don't have to compromise in politics, then you're just not going to be at the table when decisions are made about the future of your country. I guess you could decide to do that if you wanted.

What does it profit a man, indeed.

Well Sir, as ugly and nasty as this current political situation is; with all the disappointing news and disbelief as truly conservative Republicans never got any traction; let it be said that I laughed more after reading that last bit of your post then any other.

Sometimes just keeping your self respect is an enormous victory. Good luck.

The fix is in. Romney, Huck and Fred were all stalking horses for the establishment pick. Amnesty has a mandate now.
