Mom,' 'dad,' banned; now 600,000 students could go

Only months after a new state law effectively banned "mom" and "dad" from California schools, a total of 600,000 students could follow because of what has been described as the "repudiation" of 2,000 years of Christian morality, according to leaders of a new campaign assembling education alternatives.

The campaign is called California Exodus, and is being headed by Ron Gleason, pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Yorba Linda, who said while the country excels in social, economic, scientific and political accomplishments, it "gets low grades on the education of its children."

The issue is the state legislature's adoption of Senate Bill 777, which requires only positive portrayals of homosexual, bisexual, transgender and other alternative lifestyle choices.

"First, the law allowed public schools to voluntarily promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. Then, the law required public schools to accept homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual teachers as role models for impressionable children. Now, the law has been changed to effectively require the positive portrayal of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to six million children in California government-controlled schools," said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families and one of those who originally called for an abandonment of public schools.

"To rescue their children, loving parents need to find an alternative to government schools, and every church needs to make it a priority to help parents be in charge of their children's education again," he said.

He has condemned public school districts as "no longer a safe emotional environment for children" under the new law, signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, that will introduce children as young as kindergarten to the homosexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

Advancing homosexuality in the schools to destroy the foundation of the country, the family, is one of many methods used by Socialists to replace our Democratic Republic with Socialism.

If Christianity has no place in government schools, Christians have no business being there. It’s time for the churches that profess to love children now put up or shut up and provide an opportunity to educate children in a place where Jesus would be welcome. Perhaps they could devote their money to this essential service to Him instead of building luxurious monuments to their pastors, which is what many of the mega-churches are presently doing.

When it comes to school, there’s no place like home.

And the attack on homeschoolers is going to heat up like never before, when the teachers unions see their livelihood going the way of the dodo bird.

Advancing homosexuality in the schools to destroy the foundation of the country, the family, is one of many methods used by Socialists Marxists to replace our Democratic Republic with< Socialism Marxism.

It is time we called these people what they are: Marxists and Useful Idiots! I'll bet my house and my Roth IRA that the people who wrote this bill thoroughly knew and understood the dialectics underlying this bill, and they have armies of not too bright teachers to be their Useful Idiots.

Marxism is our freedom's **most** serious threat. Schools are one their most powerful weapon.

Ours is still occupied by spreading the Gospel to as many people in our mission field as we can. At my current job, I have helped build one of these monuments that you mentioned, though.

Does anyone wonder why the Rush Limbaughs and the Sean Hannitys never talk about this? Promoting Romney as the “True Conservative” this literal crap flourished under his governorship, what a crock.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Did you see Christian or non-Christian teachers marching on Sacramento to oppose this bill? Gee! Neither did I!

I wonder where all those “good” teachers are, that everyone is always praising?

Christian teachers have two choices:

1) Be bold, protest, refuse to cooperate, in the most vocal and politically active manner possible defend the family and Western Civilization. ( In other words: Seriously risk getting fired!)

2) QUIT!

If Christian teachers do anything less than the above they are teaching the students that:

1) Christians will aid and support evil in exchange for a paycheck and pension.

2)Christians are stupid, timid, or lukewarm in their faith.

3) Christians will assist with what they should know are lies.

4) If Christians think they can sneak in a little “salt and light”, they they WILL teach the kids that Christians are sly and sneaky!

Wow! I expect after an example like that, that true missionaries will have a tough time with these kids later in life. And, I won’t be surprised that if even more kids leave the faith within 2 years of graduating from high school. ( More than 85% now.)

"Now children will be told that their sexual orientation and gender are relative, too. No longer will children raised in these schools understand that God made us male and female with different, but complementary roles. Instead, children will be taught that sexual orientation and gender are merely a matter of personal choice," he said.

From further down the article. This is one of the more eloquent ways I've seen the issue articulated.

I’m sorry. Maybe it’s too early, not enough coffee or something.

But can someone tell me what Arnold has done for conservatives? I still can’t see anything, except a slight shift from the hardline socialism of Gray Davis to something a little closer to the center, which he promptly pushed back to the left with his big-government spending (stem-cell research, e.g.).

“You can’t make socialists out of individualists. Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society, which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.” - John Dewey, the father of modern American education and co-author of the “Humanist Manifesto.”

Oh they're not asleep, they know all about it. How can they not? I've gotten through to the call screener to try to talk about the Philly7, I was berated by his call screener and told "Rush didn't think his listeners would be interested". I listen to both of them at work, they never mention this stuff.

Slightly off topic here, but our conservative governor has signed off on releasing close to 100 lifer inmates so far. Our former gov, Doofus Davis, released 6.

We’re taking our kids out next year. They’ve pushed us too far this year (and we are in Texas...can’t imagine what other parents go through) with teaching that is away from the 3 r’s. Even though we are evangelical Christians...its more about teaching them well and getting them away from the Katrina hoodlums that have infiltrated our neighborhoods than it is about making sure they learn their bible. They know all about Dr. King, but nothing about George Washington or Abe Lincoln.
