The author doesn't get it. We're staying home because we're hoping these people will come to the forefront. The more extreme the better.

After 8 years of Hillary, the country will be begging for a conservative. Maybe 4 years if they're really goofy.

Correct. Bring ‘em on. The faster, the better.

Good God the world must be coming to an end..I AGREE with you!

As I have stated before withe McCain or either Dim we are in for a world of hurt. I would rather the Dims get the "credit" so hopefully we can nominate a decent candidate in 2012.

Re: John McCain vs. Clinton/Obama [Ed Whelan]

In case you were wondering, here, in descending order, are the projected ages of the current justices on January 20, 2013 (at the end of the next presidential term) and on January 20, 2017 (at the end of the following term—possibly the second term of the next elected president):

Justice Stevens: 92, 96

Justice Ginsburg: 79, 83

Justice Scalia: 76, 80

Justice Kennedy: 76, 80

Justice Breyer: 74, 78

Justice Souter: 73, 77

Justice Thomas: 64, 68

Justice Alito: 62, 66

Chief Justice Roberts: 57, 62

Yes, you get it. India would NEVER elect another Indira. The ROKs are the strongest of anticommunists, after the invasion from the North. Likewise, the US will only learn through experience. Putting a leftist ‘R’ in the White House will confuse the issue for decades.

I'm betting not.

A year of Nancy Pelosi hasn't made a difference and 8 years of Hillary won't either.

I can't believe that you actually believe this!

One would think that the example of Weimar Germany, indeed, the example of Europe generally in the inter-war era, would be enough to disabuse anyone of this notion.

Now I understand why your lot are being called "suicide" voters.

Choose life!

That presumes you'll have a country within which free and honest elections can be held to effect a change. If Hillary gets in, I don't think the country will survive in the form we know it.

Why? Just read the things she says she's going to do, and the manner in which she will do it. Pure Alinsky-Marxist socialism.

Even if the country survives in some form, you'll be shut out of power for a generation or more. It won't be 1980 when Reagan came on the scene to challenge Carter. It will be 1932. The 'Pubs didn't regain power until 1952. Meanwhile the country went socialist. We're still paying for that.

Staying Home = 4 new Dems on the Supreme Court =a continuation of Roe vs.Wade = an immediate pull-out in Iraq = higher taxes...... why don’t you get it?

This sounds altogether too much like the Dems hoping we'll fail in Iraq so they can get a Democrat elected. It's the fate of our poor country we need to be concerned about, not hoping for it to suffer a political and cultural disaster to "teach it a lesson."

If, God forbid, I have to vote for the lesser of two evils, I'll have to do it, on the probably simplistic grounds that less evil is better than more evil.

When appointing SC justices? That's my main concern.
