I hope McCain and his sycophants will read this today. It sums everything up perfectly. And Charen doesn’t even mention McCain’s volcanic performance during the debate over his amnesty bill, when he called Pete Domenici an a**hole and Chuck Grassley an idiot; and when he concluded secret backroom deals with Ted Kennedy and tried to ram the bill through without hearings or debate. Why should conservatives shut up and tolerate such a man? Surely we can do better.
Apparently we can't.
And don't call me Shirley.
;->
You'd think so, but sadly, we couldn't.
“Why should conservatives shut up and tolerate such a man? Surely we can do better”
Got any realistic ideas, because the dope from Hope doesn’t cut it either.
She hits it on the head, and I’m still going to vote for McCain. The alternative is unacceptable.
But it also brings up a very serious point about the Republican Party itself. McTemperTM got his real momentum from the states with open primaries. I don't think he would have done this without them.
Thus the question: What kind of political party allows its opponents to choose its candidate? It's lunacy, plain and simple.
Conservatives that thought we had wrested control on the party for the NE libs back in the 90s were deluding themselves. We should have made it a war to oust them at that time. If they want to emulate Democrats we should have told them to hit the liberal highway. Big mistake not to do so.
I don’t know. Actually, to be honest, after 8 years of Bush making nice all the time to the Dems, the thought of McCain calling Dems ***holes and idiots seems kind of appealing.
I was a Giuliani supporter originally, and I understand he had some of that same toughness. That appealed to me.
George W. Bush is a class act, and I miss him already, but I like the idea of a tougher President, somehow. Aren’t successful businessmen kind of like McCain, angry and swearing all the time?
My husband says the most successful people in business are ***holes.
Maybe that’s what we need. Now if McCain would just head right a little bit. . .
How can we possibly vote for somebody with potential mental problems? He wants to force massive amnesty that will destroy this country, including admitting terrorists, and we reward him by making him the GOP nominee who is sure to lose? This is crazy.
