We hear the same refrain every Presidential election cycle; anyone but Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore and now Billary, while the Federal Leviathan grows exponentially under Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush and Bush.
Is it me, or does the rank and file of the Republican Party realize their own party has baited them into socialism or do they just prefer statist sodomy from Republicans rather than Democrats? Long lives the Ron Paul Revolution...

I believe they prefer to bend over and back into an R rather than a D, but I also believe they enjoy the result of either or they wouldn’t continue to allow it.
