If there was ever a time for a third party to rise up, this is it. I'm going to help the Constitution Party www.constitutionparty.com . Look at their platform, it mirrors most everything conservatives want. You may not completely agree with every plank, but I'll bet you agree with most, much more than what the Republican party has been dumping on us for the last couple of decades. A THREE TRILLION DOLLAR budget, rejection of States Rights, No Child Left Behind, a crushing tax burden on the most productive, tax credits for parasites (vote buying), wide open borders (where's the fence they promised?), government sanctioned theft of private property for private enterprise (emminent domain), attacks on the First Amendment(McCain Feingold, possibly the "fairness" doctrine), the Second Amendment, the Fourth, the Fifth, offshoring of our manufacturing base, accepting "global wariming" as a fact (they see an opportunity to tax and control us more), a "global economy" that threatens to drag The United States of America down to thrid world status, and on and on. I'm sick of it.

The Constitution Party wants smaller government, States Rights, no IRS, secure borders, sane immigration policy, defensive military, self sufficient energy policy, a return to constitutional governance, pro life, right to bear arms, individual property rights, rejection of anthropogenic "global warming" and on and on. Look at the Constitution Party's platform and think about what you don't like about our current leadership. Think about how you would like the federal government to operate and see if it is a fit. If we had a true constitutional conservative in the White House, things wouldn't change over night. We would see a slow reversal of the crushing government that has been forced upon us. We would see our freedoms restored the same way have eroded and been stolen from us, bit by bit. Here's our chance to truly get what we've been screaming for for decades. We are a very different situation this election cycle than we were in 1992. Let's look at this as an opportunity to steal freedom from the hands of tyranny in 2008 and REALLY get behind a constitutional candidate. We have a tremendous toolbox we didn't have in '92. Now we have talk radio and the internet. Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Ingraham, Free Republic and many many more. We need to circle our wagons. Talk radio needs to put their ratings and competitiveness aside and, with conservative's help, come to agreement on what is best for the USA and PROMOTE it. Same for the major conservative web sites. They have a huge audience and if we could all agree to give up the expectation of 100% agreement on the platform, we can TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK from the Democrats and Republicans. As the cliche goes, put your money (and vote) where your mouth is and support what you say what you want, the Constitution. May God restore his blessing on our great country and help us take it back.

Seems like there was a list of laws dealing with write in votes the other day. If I recall only two states don’t allow them.

I'll have to find out for certain. I may just write in Tom Tancredo, my 1st choice.

I wonder just how bad the GOP has to get before the majority of conservatives COMMIT to a revolt. So many of us have put a lot of work, heart and belief into the party and giving up seems like leaving that all behind. But after the RINOs have ripped the platform to shreds, there’s really not a lot left to keep us, is there? We’ll have to work with what we’ve got, especially the honestly conservative politicians regardless of party.

Exactly. I stopped giving money to the RNC when they started going soft on the illegal alien invasion around the time of the 2004 election. My money will only go to a genuinely conservative American candidate not under the thumb of foreign special interest groups (and there aren’t many of those left these days).

I voted for the Constitution Party in ‘04 due to my disagreements with President Bush on his “palestinian state” thing for Israel and his softness on the illegal alien invasion. I voted “R” for the rest of the slots. My state was not a battleground state in ‘04, so I felt comfortable voting that way.

It looks like in ‘08 I will either vote Constitution Party again for the Presidency slot or write in Hunter, Tancredo, or Lou Dobbs. Unless Divine Intervention happens and McCain genuinely and drastically changes his positions on certain issues, he will not have my vote.
