But the brief from the Solicitor General did.
Texas submitted its brief for 31 states today. My computer crashed when I tried to open the pdf. I was at Gura's blog when I first found it. I can't find that blog now. Gura wrote that he's thinking of letting the Texas Solicitor General, Ted Cruz, have about 10 minutes of oral argument time at SCOTUS, IIRC. I stumbled into the following URLs:
http://www.gurapossessky.com/news/parker/pleadings.html
http://www.gurapossessky.com/news/parker/documents/07-290bsacTexas.pdf
I aint read it yet. Could someone give me the URL to Gura's blog?
And so did most of the other briefs for DC. I really meant the briefs for Heller.
I like the way the Cheney, 55 Senators and 250 or so Congresscritters smacked the SG down.
SG:
The Court should affirm that the Second Amendment, no less than other provisions of the Bill of Rights, secures an individual right, and should clarify that the right is subject to the more flexible standard of review described above. If the Court takes those foundational steps, the better course would be to remand.
Cheney et.al.:
This case involves nothing more than the right of law-abiding persons to keep common handguns and usable firearms for lawful self-defense in the home. Accordingly, no purpose would be served by remanding this case for further fact finding or other proceedings.
Thanks for the links!
