Not only that, but even Kerry carried 95% of the black vote. So Obama will not do much better than Kerry among blacks, but likely much worse among whites and Hispanics.
There are Dem governors elected frequently in deep red states. See Oklahoma. Against Obama, McCain will not lose any of the Bush states. Can anyone name one thing Obama has done? No. He’ll pale in comparison on a truly national stage where enough of public won’t fall for well-spoken nothingness.
What are you smoking. I can't stand McCain, but in the general election he will carry :
New Mexico
Arizona
Alabama
Mississippi
Tennessee
Texas
Oklahoma
Kansas
The Dakotas
Nebraska
Wyoming
Montana
Kentucky
Alaska
Utah
Colorado
West Virginia.
LOL, sure he will, by the way I have a real hot deal on some bridge stock.
Obama is probably getting votes from republicans/independents who see that as the best way to beat Hillary and McCain.
They seem to act as if the only way to go is support McCain to stop Hillary.
I was thinking about that, You know, if everyone supported Obama we would stop both McCain & Hillary from being president.
So that means we have Obama, but wouldn’t that ‘UNIFY’ conservatives & Republicans like never before?
If McCain or Hillary get in, we have the same fight over immigration anyway.
Comments? From a Fred Thompson supporter.
BS. (post 8)
“A prediction ~ Obama will carry all the delegates in Virginia. This is the only state in modern times to elect a black man as Governor.”
Catch a clue: Deval - Mass.
Obama is a muslim, with allegiance to black nationalists. Pining for an Obama victory is tantamount to treason.
And not only that, with Lieberman’s backing, Connecticut will be in play. Also, Florida, with its large Hispanic population, will be out of reach for Obama.
Okay, which states will he lose to Obama?
Obama will only get the idiots to vote for him.
Oh, wait...
Obama doesn’t have a prayer in either Florida or Ohio or Missouri. The last Massachusetts polls had McCain beating him 50% to 45% for Obama.
Obama is toast. (And he won’t be their nominee anyway.)
Don’t bet on the Republicans carrying Colorado.
What does that have to do with red states McCain will lose to Obama in 2008?
But didn't Wilder underperform relative to pre-election polling data? Hence the term "Wilder Effect" (Sometimes known as "Bradley Effect" for CA's Tom Bradley).
That said, I think you'll be proven right - northern VA has grown so full of left-leaning Democrats since Wilder's days Obama's numbers there should overwhelm anything Clinton can do downstate.
We are not being swamped with mind-numbed Democrats. On the other hand, we have a far larger population base with which to be concerned, and folks have moved West, North and Souf'.
Wilder got into office on the strength of Republican cross-over voters anyway.
At the same time substantial numbers of Democrat whites refused to vote for him. I think that's what screwed up the pollsters ~ and recalling it, that's why I think it will continue to be a factor in any election (where votes actually get counted ~ not Massachusetts for example) where a black Democrat is at the head of the ticket.
We saw this effect in Maryland and Ohio in 2006 ~ the Republican candidates for Senator and Governor simply could not overcome the fact that they were not getting any white Democrat crossover votes, and without them a Republican can't win either state.
Obama is the Seinfield candidate. A candidate with no substance but popular due to a cult of personality. With his cult following, Obama can convince the majority of uninformed people that Marxism is good for them. That is what makes him more dangerous than the Clintons. Should Hillary take the White House, conservatives can act as the loyal opposition. With an Obama Presidency, conservatives will not oppose Obama for fear of being called racists.
