You forgot the war on terror and Iraq/Afghanistan.
And repealing Bush’s tax cuts.
And not giving us national health care.

I'm not arguing that point with you. I'm arguing that regardless of how bad it is, we brought ourselves there awaiting the perfect candidate. He did come to the dance.
Also I do not believe that Ronald Reagan would trash this party because he disagreed. He IMHO, he would work from within it to make the changes and corrections he believed were necessary. He would not 'cut and run'.

Romney wasn't perfect but he was a moderate, not liberal, and would keep us from drifting farther to the left. His fiscal and national security stance on the issues gave the conservative hope. We missed a chance.I'm afraid we have missed it. Romney, like many conservative Republicans, were converts. Romney was in the process and what I saw I liked. Oh, well, water under the bridge.

And there’s nothing conservative or principled about supporting him. We need to work to get a House or Senate to protect us from the mayhem that will be attempted by any candidate in the race should he/she/it be elected. That’s needs to be the priority.

"I can't see running away from the Party because I disagree with them."Please explain to me what the purpose of a party is if not to collectively pursue and achieve the things the members agree to. I for one did not take an oath to the Republican Party or ever agree to supporting them for better or worse, forsaking all others. When they do not represent my beliefs they cease to be my party.

No matter how you couch it, McCain is NOT, nor never has been, anything remotely close to conservative. I'll take my chances by sitting this one out (top of the ticket only).
We (conservatives) have been voting defensively ("consider the alternative") for the past decade or more. If the party cannot produce proven conservatives, I will become an independent. My decision may be made in the next few weeks.

Theres Nothing Conservative or Principled John McCainExactly - I held my nose too many times voting for a so-called "moderate" RINO and I will NOT do it any more. The frikkin party turned left and I'm not following.

what are you talking about...he has been pro life his whole career and is strong on our military and the need for overwhelming force. That’s conservative. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, that’s not conservative.
