My only addition:
Keep the argument in context. If the point is trivial, the ‘fight’ should reflect that. If the fight started trivial and you’re breaking out the heavy weapons, you’ve both already lost. Do you really want to die on this hill?
Need to give credit were due: my x-wife taught me that one....the hard way.
Our compromise: if I only feel moderately strong about something, I’ll let her win. If I feel very strongly about it, she lets me win. This way, she wins about 80% of the time, I don’t lose on things that might have me feeling disgruntled, and there is peace in the household
