MIAMI - At the end of Nicaragua's civil war, Juan Gregorio Rodriguez traded his life as a Contra rebel for that of auto mechanic in Florida. He kept in touch with other rebels and supported their political efforts, but mostly from afar.
That changed in 2006, when the Contras' nemesis, Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega, was elected president, 16 years after his Soviet-backed government lost power in a vote that ended the guerrilla conflict in which some 30,000 people died.

A Clinton win could be a green light for “wars of liberation” to continue without US intervention.

"Makes one wonder how many other third world marxists have quietly assimilated into the fabric of mainstream America." Errrr.... the guy isn't a Marxist, he's a Contra who fought the Marxists in Nicaragua.

OIC, then the Clinton’s would be more likely to bring war crime trials against Contras.

I'm supporting the Contras, cup by delicious cup...
Wake up with the freedom fighters
They also have a nice section there for those who may be confused as to their history.

The best way to support the Contras, the people of Nicaragua, and capitalism in Nicaragua is to vacation down there and in particular stay at my friends house Casa Ensueno. Beautiful beaches and your money creates jobs there: accountants, new construction, restaurants, etc.

Sounds good. Nobody's worried about the communists coming back?

"Sounds good. Nobody's worried about the communists coming back?" The concern is with Ortega aligning with Hugo Chavez. But most think that since there is significant development capital rolling into Nicaragua that Ortega won't mess with the free enterprise system this time. But it is a concern.
