I just I should ask James Garner. The Rockford Files has been running on TV for 30 years and never made a dime.
If they aren’t making a profit, you have to wonder why they bother.
“It’s been 30 years. Have we made any money yet?”

Garner was a family friend and he sued Universal in a suit that lasted over ten years. He finally got to the “3rd Book” in Universal’s accounting dept. that showed the actual earnings for “Rockford”. They had to eventually settle with him, but it cost him a fortune to do it. He didn’t care. They just pissed off the wrong guy. It happens.
