Democrat Barack Obama looked to continue his winning streak in three mid-Atlantic presidential primaries Tuesday, while rival Hillary Rodham Clinton turned her attention to a future round of contests. Republican John McCain sought to rebound from two weekend losses to Mike Huckabee and reinforce his position as the inevitable GOP nominee.

This Obama - mania is starting to freak me out a bit.
I think it’s time to start rooting for Hillary to dump some dirt on him and inflict some pain. Otherwise, I think this rock star is going to be extremely difficult to stop.....
MSNBC has Obama ahead 958 to 904, but ofcourse they don’t count the Super Delegats.
Still its noteworthy that among elected delegates he has a lead.
If he crushes Hilliary in Today’s primaries and then in Hawaii etc, AND if he can get Edwards to give up his 26 to him, he may have enough cushion to absorb the losses in Texas and Ohio. Then he would have to win in PA.
is it wrong to have fleeting thoughts that it would be better to have Obama for four years then witness “The Restoration” of the Clinton Dynasty, with all of the pomp and circumstance - including a thorough rewriting of the history of the past eight years. Those unnamed CIA sources always whacking W are just waiting for “the Return”.
I truly believe HRC and WJC would spend vast energies on vengeance and legacy rebuilding that would mire the USA for eight years in a worthless morass of political cultural revolution.
Obama would have to look forward, not back to have any credibility. Any policy extremes would be tamed by a congressional balance that would moderate red zone plays, keeping the legislative ball near the middle of the field. Any real hard push to the left would only energize the freedom crowd in the republican base and that would be a good thing - might generate better statesmen then we have seen for a while.
Big Shock (/s): Democrat cronies (aka superdelegates) are beholden to the Clintons!
If Obama keeps his momentum, super delegates may start peeling off in his direction. If Hillary stops his momentum somewhere, then she will keep them from defecting. Then she still gets the nomination, if that happens.
It’s almost as if the primaries and caucuses are a sideshow, if the super delegates are going to decide it in the end.
I’m not sure it will help Hillary or not but she got some divine intervention in Maryland today...it is snowing hard in western and central md and schools are closing now in the Metro areas. In the Metro areas of Baltimore and PG County is where Obama could count on huge gains with minority voters. Now Hillary may have a slight chance if the MD machine led by Gov. O’smally can get the vote out for Hill/Bill, who he endorsed.
I still think Obama wins, but it may make it a race depending on how much snow falls. Many commuters could be stuck on the Beltway for long periods of time - it’s a factor.
Obama is going to roll over Hillary like she is a grease spot on the road. No one will admit it, but young kids have been spoon fed black heroes for years in movies, television and pop stars, and now they have a likable, black hero in the flesh. Make no mistake about how Obama’s followers think of him. This bored, over indulged, tattooed generation is erupting in its own pop, cultural revolution, rallied around their very own political, pop star. It’s an amazing thing to watch, completely predictable, and no one saw it coming.
Counting on Governor Carcetti, err, O’Malley, to get out the vote is not a good plan. Not with his approval ratings.
Hillary is toast here.
Besides...she hasn't said sh** about any issue since they had their little fake fight. It was a "girl thing" again.
But her hubby whoring around IN THE WHITEHOUSE...with a girl HALF HIS AGE?? Not a tear...not a mean word against him...just an attempt to get Monica out of Town....a big right wing conspiracy!!
Playing "girl" is Hillary's "Wag the Tail".
Where are you? No snow in MoCo yet.
My Sh!tstream Flow Direction Detector has gathered, just barely, an amount of stream-sampling required for seasoned and bonded sh!tstream flow experts...such as myself...to conclude, in written report form, a premature but well-defined and acute (possible Global Warming aided,) fledgling Sh!tstream Direction Flow Reversal.
As a sidenote, my detector, as all my equipement, is US SFDD board certified and in accordance and subject to, monthly inspections.
I caution that, aside the equipment's cutting-edge technology abilities aside, there exists always...extranious forces in sh!tstream flow direction habits that...allowed to fester and go chemically untreated...have historically been shown to cause a complete and often disasterous negation and reversal of sh!tstream flow direction.
However, I bank my Sh!tstream Flow Direction Expert credentials and expertise on the permanency of this new, reversed, current-gathering, and very important directional flow. I have contacted certified Riparian Rights experts to inform them of my findings; as erosion of sh!tstream banks may now occur.
That's all I have to report for now. I will keep the public abreast of any further Sh!tstream Flow Direction Detector alerts.
But at this point...today...I believe that Obamaville is NOW UPSTREAM Cankletown on the banks of the Mighty Sh!tstream.
Pray for our country's streams. Thank you and God bless.
No want little yellow round guy. Want International Man of Mystery.
UMMM...what do you mean by this:
“Any policy extremes would be tamed by a congressional balance that would moderate red zone plays, keeping the legislative ball near the middle of the field. “
In case you have been living on Mars, Harry Reid is majority leader of the Senate and Nansi Pelosi is leader of the house. Kiss this country goodbye.
YEAH baby. thnxkbye. ilu. ;-)
I like your post.
Unquestionably, Clinton 2.0 will do immeasurable damage to the country, just as 1.0 did.
If we could just get Obama to look pretty and say inspiring and insipid things like “Yes we can!” all the while the GOP unites and pushes a congressional center right agenda (which is actually what happened during Clinton 1.0), then, things will be ok, at least domestically.
I do, however, worry about foreign affairs, something which is rightly in the Presidential portfolio. I fear that Obama’s left wing idiocy will hurt us in the same way that Clinton’s did, as I am sure that he precipitated 9/11 by his carelessness, naivety, and everything else. Perhaps at least with Obama he won’t have to devote all his energy to avoid being booted out of office with an impeachment conviction, thus contributing to his lapse in foreign policy.
