JERUSALEM – Palestinians yesterday tried to burn down Joseph's Tomb – Judaism's third holiest site – according to Palestinian security officials speaking to WND.
It marks the second time the Palestinians attempted to burn down the tomb, located near Nablus, the biblical city of Shechem.
Joseph's Tomb is the believed burial place of the biblical patriarch Joseph, the son of Jacob who was sold by his brothers into slavery and later became viceroy of Egypt.
Palestinian security officials in Nablus said yesterday they were called to the tomb to find 16 burning tires inside the sacred structure.
A Palestinian police official who inspected the site told WND today there was some fire damage to the tomb. He said the Palestinian Authority, fearing embarrassment, immediately formed a joint committee from the PA's Force 17, Preventative Security Services and Palestinian intelligence, to find out who was behind the fire.
He said patrols were stepped up around the site.
A spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces said the IDF was not aware of the fire or any unusual activity near the tomb but that it would immediately inquire with the PA.
The move comes after Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced last week he would ask Israel's Defense Ministry to work with the PA to reconstruct and restore the tomb, parts of which were destroyed by Palestinians, including known PA security officers, in 2000.

My comment was meant to refer to how so much publicity was given to the Taliban's destroying some ancient pagan statues in Afghanistan (which were proclaimed "treasures of humanity") and contrast it with the absolute silence when the tomb of a genuine holy person like Yosef HaTzaddiq is vandalized.
Where are Abe Foxman and Marvin Hier? Out worrying about homosexuals, I suppose.
People should keep this in mind when our dear leaders encourage Israel to parcel off Jerusalem. It’s as if each day is born with no history when you think of what our leaders propose at times.

Israel is a thorn in the world’s side for sure. satan hates Israel because the saviour Jesus Christ came from there and we know how much he hates Jesus. Imagine all the fuss over a tiny country. But, if America doesn’t side with her (and with Obama we won’t!), then America is in deep doo since God put us together. I call it being joined at the hip. That’s why so many Christians are concerned about Israel. We’re part of her in some ways.

That's because deep down they *know* that Joseph is still alive (the Northern House of Israel, that is) and is going to dispatch them all to allah soon enough. They are bugging out, knowing their time is short.
Joseph was presumed by Jacob to have been savagely attacked and killed by a wild animal (hmmm, not unlike the topic of the article), but came back from the dead (so to speak) to save Jacob and his entire family.
Joseph (Jacob also) was embalmed (i.e. preserved) in Egypt. The children of Israel carried Joseph's bones out of Egypt and buried them in Shechem. Something about those bones bother the Muzzies...
They cling to Bush's lying vision of a Pali state. Ezekiel has a true vision of a vast army... the *whole* House of Israel coming to life from a valley full of bones. It's not a happy sight from the Pali perspective.
Yes, I’m familiar with the Biblical version of the Joseph story, including the carrying of his bones back from Egypt. I’m just not sure what the Muslim story is, exactly, or whether they recognize that the tomb actually is Joseph’s tomb.
The Wahabbis who conquered Arabia and put the House of Saud in power destroyed a lot of purely Muslim artifacts when they swept in, because they thought they were idolatrous. Apparently they were only with difficulty prevented from destroying the tomb of Muhammed.
When vandals and iconoclasts get started, they may not even understand their own reasons for doing what they do.

We know for sure that Joseph’s burial wishes were Biblically noted for a reason.
He is there for an important reason. But it’s so very sad that as in his life, he continues to be attacked.
I guess we will have to wait for the full circle.
That's just it. The savages are like pets that suddenly - for whatever reason - snap. They make not know why; we may not know why. The given is that they are savages, prone to being set off by *something*. Beneath the superficial outrage of the day, lies the "destroy" instinct. It's the hatred/jealousy of that which is good, in this case the Tzaddik Joseph. Darkness despises the light, and so on.
They don't give a hoot about actual historical events in their own history - they make up the past as they go along. 'Tards.
These cultists desecrate a Jewish holy site without remorse, but if a Jew even dares to just pray on the Temple Mount the world comes to an end for the Muzzies.
