I’m not sure what the Muslim attitude is, exactly. In Islam, Joseph is Youssef, and there are passages about him in the Koran. He is supposedly one of the Muslim “prophets.”

Someone doesn’t get it, but then what else is new. In the scheme of things, Joseph and his policies saved the Egyptians from starvation, and as a side issue at the tme, his family as well who wandered over from Jerusalem out of hunger, and became the Hebrew people in the land of Egypt, and who grew to the size later to be rescued from Egyptian slavery through the Exodus.
Joseph’s body was taken back to the promised land for burial when Moses and the Children of Israel departed Egypt. So what part of Joseph’s history would cause the Palestinian slaves of the surrounding territories in todays world, to not identify fully with the slave status of the Children of Israel under the Pharaoh’s of the earliar time? To my feeble mind it is a parallel that should not be lost on them.
What could the answer be?
