Stupid Black Men: How to Play the Race Card--and Lose by Larry Elder

Why race-baiters and hacks who call themselves "black leaders" –- and their white allies -- are the worst enemies of black Americans

Stupid Black Men
by Larry Elder

Every day, we hear it from the Left and the "civil rights" establishment: life is unfair for black Americans. Even decades after the end of segregation, they still have to labor under staggering burdens of racism and inequality. Try as they might to get ahead, they’re being kept down by "the man" -- and the answer, of course, is more affirmative action, more racial preferences, and more guilt-tripping of the American mainstream.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society
KEYWORDS: elder; race
Sean Hannity interviewed Larry Elder this afternoon, and some of the things Larry has to say about the behavior of different groups of black Men is every bit as confrontational (and controvercial) as Bill Cosby has been.

I am not a big fan of Larry Elder, but he grabbed my attention today, and I thought this was worth sharing.

A worthy addition to every Freeper's personal library...

I like Larry Elder and he makes interesting points, imo. I haven’t bought the book yet, but look forward to the next time I’m in a book store.

Hmmm... Got a "Proxy Error -- upstream server failed..." alert when I POSTed the first time; thought it hadn't made it to FR...

Apologies for the dupe post, anyway.

THE TEN THINGS YOU CAN'T SAY IN AMERICA:

1. Blacks are more racist than whites
2. White condescension is as real as black racism
3. The media bias: it's real, it's widespread, it's destructive
4. The glass ceiling: full of holes
5. America's greatest problem: illegitimacy
6. The big lie: our healthcare crisis
7. The welfare state: helping us to death
8. Republicans vs. Democrats: maybe a dime's worth of difference
9. Vietnam II: the war on drugs, and we're losing that one too
10. Gun control advocates: good guys with blood on their hands

Unfortunately, Barrack Obama seems to be sending the same message as the other “stupid black men,” only in lofty-sounding rhetoric.

I wonder how well Obama would fare in the Dem primary if he started telling black men to take responsibility for their own children and quit waiting for the gov’t to do it for them.

Then again, I’ll be very overjoyed if Obama gets Hillary out of the picture. That in itself makes him a truly great American.

There seems to be a plethora of 'dupe posts' on FR in recent days, sometimes 3 or 4 or even 5 dupes at a clip. Guess there are some server troubles going on again, as it has been kinda slow responding even for just reading

Had a rash of "Proxy Errors" on 'Super Tuesday' but I blamed it on the tornadoes that were tearing up the Midwest. Tonight, though, the regional radar is absolutely clear of storms.

FWIW, I'm on FR from NE TX via "Wild Blue" satellite...

"I am not a big fan of Larry Elder, but he grabbed my attention today ..."

Well, you should be a big fan of Larry Elder, and should have been for a decade now....he really is a "sage."

I discovered Larry Elder's show (it was recommended to me by a fellow conservative) in the mid-late 1990s. Other than Rush, he's the only talk show host who, in my opinion, GETS real conservative principles. He is a national treasure.

Over the years I've also listened to Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, Michael Savage, and Sean Hannity, and all of them have lost me along the way although I have made it a point to give them many benefits of the doubt, tuning back in from time to time to reassess my assessment of them! Genuine conservative principles, as I was taught them, go over their heads, it seems to me. For example, Laura Ingraham is self-righteous in her anti-smoking opinions because cigarettes just bother her so. It's a small thing, but significant. She may like the idea of government-enforced public bans personally, but a conservative would reject it in principle. Legislating "do unto others" is in vain. In America, it's ultimately led to moral breakdown.

Sean Hannity the other day vowed to fight this battle "issue by issue" with regard to the Republican nominee. *sigh* A principled candidate would be predictable on the issues. Roe v. Wade? Toss it in the name of limited government. Gun rights? They're yours -- in the name of limited government. Taxes? Limited government is the only way to lower taxes. The gay rights question? Limited government guys would say, "We're out of it -- it's up to you," and in a free market, free individuals would resolve such a thorny moral problem with their own decisions where to discriminate in business and private life. Over-regulation of business that drives up the costs of everything? So-called "global warming" and official mandates predicated upon it? Horrible public education and lack of affordable choice for parents? The limited government guy has the right answer there, too.

Issue by issue is for lack of principle. Principle defines the stand on the issues.

I heard the same interview and what Larry said was not confrontational or controversial.

It seemed to me that he was talking about black Americans taking responsibility for themselves and not falling back on the slave card.

What I thought was interesting was that when the word “racist” was brought up it was always preceded by “white.”

Racism swings several ways...it comes in many colors.

Funny how not long after the Civil War ended, blacks in all walks of life unaware that they were stigmatized by slavery were making positive contributions to technology and society in a manner consistent with the example set by Booker T. Washington. Then along came W.E.B DuBoise and the rest is history... tragic history.

I was driving home today as he started saying the titles to the chapters. Most FReepers know what it means, but to say it over the air it will no doubt get railed. Of course while the division between the masses exists and BDS takes a back-seat, it may be the time to educate the minority on how they have been played by the left.
