Go read OBL’s 1996 Fatwa, or the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission Report. And it’s not even just the Arab problem, but also in South and Central America. Castro, Posada Carriles, Noriega, Galtieri, D’Aubuisson, Marco Sosa, Torrijas, Montesinos, Alvarado, ect. And in the middle east the Baathists, Operation Cyclone, Ajax, the Taliban, ect. It’s a very, very tight rope to walk across. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not just a US thing. The Soviets did the same thing, shipping Kalishnikovs off to any country who was anti-American. It’s yet another reason domestic security should be more important than anything else.
And I should add, so people don’t peg me as an isolationist, I supported the Iraq invasion. Hell, I still say we won the war. But with any military action, I believe in going in, kicking ass, and getting out. The global love cop stuff, the Wilson/Clinton-esque nation building always ends badly unless the populace en masse fights for their own freedom. And BTW... screw democracy. This is a republic, or is meant to be.
