Jesus came to earth as a Jew, but He transcends race and geography. Europeans paint him as European, Africans paint Him as African, Asians paint Him as Asian. There is no Greek nor Jew, only one in Christ Jesus.

Being a Jew, he would have been olive skinned, dark hair and very dark eyes. He was probably very dark skinned due to spending so much time in the sun.

One of the reasons is a very common painting found in both Catholic and Protestant churches. It was painted in 1941 by Warner Sallman (1892-1968)
