I agree on that. Just looking at him and Romney on the same stage yesterday made me think - OMG he looks bad - and looks matter esp in the TV age. Wait till he is next to Obama.

No, he is dumping party bossism that would hand the nomination to someone who didn't receive a majority of the delegates thru the primary process. Superdelegates will switch rather than steal the election from the people's choice. The Dem party does not want to commit political suicide. Expect more such defections to occur.

It’s always been o.k. to be a racist if you’re a member of an “oppressed group”. You have no power, you see, so it’s o.k. — even if you’ve been in Congress for 30 years or so.
Your ZIP code tells your race pretty darn accurately.
This is a lot less true than it used to be, with a rising professional class that doesn't care what color you are. But black professionals catch a lot of flak from the usual suspects if they move out of the city to the majority-white suburbs. And old residential patterns are slow to change.
