Specter’s magic bullet doesn’t pass scrutiny either. Let’s call it a draw and move on.
What is this fascination of our Congress with sports anyway? But that there were equal oversight on Congress. Specter and Leahy and the rest of them are pathetic jerks.
There was another football league, can’t remember a whole lot about it, but they played in late 80’s for a few seasons ... they would pick up after SuperBowl into SPring as I recall. Obviously they didn’t make it, but there was an attempt at competition in the world of professinal football.
I can’t believe these senators have gotten into this .. or that I’ve wasted two posts on the subject.
We’ll all remember exactly where we were when we first heard the news.
Because its a multi-billion per year industry. Just because it is in the context of a professional sport does not make it any less of a business.
If Specter believes there’s a league-wide coverup going on, one could argue that he’s just protecting his constituents by investigating this matter.
That was the USFL.
Thanks!
