But do you like your chances better with a DEM president.

No. That’s why I won’t vote for McCain.

Check the ACU ratings of the republicans who currently lead the house and senate, and then come back and explain how it is that conservatives have been “mostly ignored” in between elections.

No. That’s why I won’t vote for McCain.

Because you prefer Obama?

You just don't get it. You're gonna get either a) a president who favors amnesty but promises to build the fence first or b) a president that favors amnesty and won't build a fence. Not that tough a choice. And those ARE the only choices. I'll take choice A, and fight to see that the fence does get built, and first. Meanwhile, I'd continue to urge Congress not to pass amnesty.

Is that ideal? Um, no. But guess what. Those are your choices. Sitting home doing nothing, as a conservative, is the same as choosing b, which is a dumb thing to do.

Have you not been paying attention? We’re not talking about individual congresscritters and their individual votes. We’re talking about the Presidents and what actually gets passed and signed.

Didn’t you notice how loud and strong we conservatives had to shout to get their attention WRT CIR or Harriet the Bush Buddy? Those are not isolated examples. These critters need to be forced to do the right thing, or they do ignore us and do the liberal thing.

Heck, even when we shout, they still manage to do the liberal thing. Just look at earmarks and the total federal budget, both of which have ballooned on Bush’s watch. Do you think he’d be suddenly noticing earmarks if it weren’t an election year?

Hey Einstein. First, thanks for ruining a thread that was intended to pound the hell out of the democrat. 2nd, would you vote for Lincoln Chaffee for President or Susan Collins?

Wow, unbelievable. I can not believe they would pull a stunt like this. It is irrefutable. Fake.

Why pound the DEM? Don’t you want the DEMs to win?

Your questions are hypothetical. Mine is based in reality. You don’t want McCain to win. It therefore makes no sense to go after Obama. He’s the other choice. It’s either/or.

Running away from an obvious and true choice? Not surprising. McCain or the DEM. Those are your choices. If McCain is not the choice, then Obama is. It's either/or. Nothing faulty about it.

There’s a whole wide world out there beyond kneepadding for McCain, sally. You should explore it some time.

thanks

i fear we just don’t have numbers right now for serious conservatism

i’ve never seen lefties like Obama and Hillary with this much groundswell before

either is far far worse than McCain

Running away from an obvious and true choice? Not surprising. chop your testicles off with a butcher’s knife or a MEAT CLEAVER. Those are your choices. If butcher knife is not the choice, then cleaver is. It’s either/or. Nothing faulty about it.

There, your choice in in better context now.

Sorry for the delay ... long weekend away from a computer.

These aging justices are hanging around awaiting a chief executive who will appoint ideologically equivolent youthful justices. They’ve a broad field to pick from. I’d readily bet my life a McCain presidency is our best hope and folks around here in FR are nuts not rallying behind him despite his spotty history. I heard today that McCain rates a weak 65 on some conservative scale. Hussein Obama and Hillary rate 6 and 8 respectively. Qualifying I don’t know the reliability of the numbers, this begs the question.

Europe’s reached some kind of bizarre, historic “tipping point” and we’re getting awfully close to the same. Changing demographics and the increasing reliance of the incompetent and lazy (many of whom do vote) on the nanny state make our fight all the more difficult. We become more outnumbered with the passing of time. When does the fight become unwinnable?

I’ve traveled Europe every few years since I was a teen and the fleeting relative value of the Euro and the euphoria greeting the new EU belie the perhaps (probable?) inevitable doom of the continent that dominated the last couple of millenia and from which kicked off the real emergence of so much human greatness.

Cowed and shamed as they are after two world wars, what a sorry bunch of people.

FR’s a great site and I have tremendous respect for many here, but I’m frankly fed up with those that so loudly broadcast their belief-driven self-righteousness and almost divine license to truth. It almost makes one grateful to the centrists, but there it is. Many of those you rather sharply fight have driven away a lot of very bright people at a time when they can do such good here.

I appreciate your realism and, I think, cautious optimist. Keep on fighting with the knowledge you’re not alone. The battle in which we’re engaged is perhaps the most vital of all time. To some degree, penetrating and challenging the pre-set biases of people who should be our unqualified allies, is about as important as anything else we can do.

Happy to make your acquaintence.
