Kosovo's parliament has been called into emergency session to formally declare independence from Serbia.

"We have to take decisions on the future of our nation," Prime Minister Hashim Thaci told reporters. MP's are expected to meet at 1400 GMT.

The US and a number of EU countries are expected to recognize Kosovo on Monday.

Serbia has threatened Kosovo with diplomatic and economic sanctions, but not force. Its ally, Russia, also opposes Kosovan independence.

Correspondents say the potential for trouble between Kosovo's Serbs and ethnic Albanians is enormous.

Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica is to make a televised address at 1500 GMT.

"We are on the brink of a very crucial moment-an important decision that will make us one of the free nations of the world," Mr. Thaci told the media as he read the letter sent to the speaker of parliament, Jakup Krasniqi, to request the special session.

He said the MP's would approve the declaration of independence and would vote on the state symbols...

Where will Christians who are not Serbs turn?

This analysis should help you (all of us) understand.

We need to be careful of news coming out of that region: most of it is funded through Open Society Institute—the international pimp Soros’ outift.

and we will have race war.

No, we won't.

For there to be a war, there has to be two sides. Americans will not fight, they're afraid of being called names.

i just heard a report that due to the strategy bill clinton devised, kosovo was saved from ethnic cleansing in just a short year and democracy and independence have returned to the citizens of kosovo...

un troops are there to prevent any more attempts at genocide.

it was sad hearing the praise of bill clinton... and a country that cannot stand on its own, does not deserve the us troops dying for their cause.

As you know reports are a dime a dozen teeman. No genocide ever took place in Kosovo but Kosovo has been ethnically cleansed of Serbs...the original inhabitants of Kosovo.

Kosovo Albanians already have a “homeland” ...in Albania. This state is another step towards the islamification of Europe.

We are simply paying our dues and bribes — keeping those OPEC pipelines going.

Let them do what they wish. If they move against us, nuke them into oblivion.

The Americans, bogged down in the Islamic world, are hardly in a position to deal with a crisis over Kosovo.

That much is clear, the rest....well, A Clinton Legacy of giving the planet back his old friends, the USSR, will give new meaning to his trip to Moscow in 1969!

What is this I hear about Kosovar’s being secular Pro-West Muslims? Is there anybody here from the balkans who can shed some light on this?

Bush has nothing to do with this in terms of setting policy. This is about the out of control state department that has already deposed Conalezza Rice.

State department policy is not being set by the president. These are the same state department hacks who set policy from the days of the death of tito.

This is another idiodic US policy decision. Kosovo will not be a free democracy for long. The Islamo Facists will be in charge in no time. Another Former Christian country falls to Islam. We are watching the slow fall of Europe to Islam, one country at a time.
WASS.

No surprise....I think they're about ready to "recognize" the "nation of Aztlan" in the U.S.

“Last night, Serbia recalled its ambassador to Washington. “This decision by the US will not turn the false state [Kosovo] into a real one,” Vojislav Kostunica, the Prime Minister, told parliament. “The government has ordered the immediate withdrawal of the ambassador from Washington.”

I find this [what Bush did] pretty disgusting, actually.

"What is this I hear about Kosovar’s being secular Pro-West Muslims?"

That's the crap propaganda on the so-called "Kosovars". But how "secular" is it when over 150 ancient Christian churches are destroyed and replaced by Saudi mosques? Does this look "secular" to you? And all of this happened since 1999, under OUR watch!

PS I am an American, born & raised, of Montenegrin descent. And I fear for America, because our political leadership has gone over to the Dark side on this!
