My first reaction to everyone who always wants to say Carter now is to let history judge, but I tend to want to do the same thing and to agree:
Worst: The only elected president to be impeached. A man who diddled while al Qaida arose.
No one else is close to as bad.
It started with Carter, and the hostages in Tehran. Plus Carter gave away the Panama Canal, to as it turns out — the Chinese.
True. On the other hand I don't think anyone back then was really sounding the alarm about al Queda. Were there any Republicans saying we needed to squash al Queda at the time?
