Nets Don't Disclose Bill Clinton Confronted African-American
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/18/2008 6:13:36 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

If a supremely prominent Republican who was John McCain's chief surrogate had gotten into an angry confrontation at a campaign event, do you think the broadcast networks would have promptly let us know his interlocutor was African-American?

I do. But none of the broadcast network's morning news shows, at least during this morning's crucial first half-hour, disclosed the African-American identity of the man with whom Bill Clinton got into just such an argument yesterday in Ohio.

Not a word of any incident whatsoever at GMA or the Early Show, at least during the first half-hour. Today did mention that Clinton "showed his temper . . . after an Obama supporter tried to disrupt his speech in Canton," but nothing about the man's identity.

How do you not know or remember whether a former president hit you in the face or not?

I think Bill Clinton needs to “apologize to Jesse Jackson” (South Park reference).

Heard about this on radio. Seems the guy kept chanting "Obama Obama" during Bill's speech. Went to ropeline to confront him. Says he thinks Bill hit him. "Thinks" You know if you've been hit.

As long as he's losing his temper.... I'm happy.

If I hit you you'd know it...Bubba is used to hitting women so the guy's uncertainity is understandable.

It took a series of subpoenas, a blue dress and a DNA test to prove Bill hit Monica....

what gives? Later reports say the Clinton campaign reported it as a confrontation with a Pro-Life activist, that makes it OK. This campaign is revealing every fault line in the culture. Really weird.

There were two incidents at separate speeches.
First with Holeman, later with pro-lifers at another speech.

Abortion is THE issue - some God v Devil stuff here, bigtime.

I didn’t used to think so, but in examining the motivating factors of “liberals”, I can see why this is THE penultimate issue.

“Liberalism” centers around making the innocent pay for the consequences of the guilty’s behavioral choices. There is an underlying belief to this, but see “Regurgitating the Apple” for more info.

What could be more of an example of this than abortion?
The MOST innocent human being (God’s creation in His own image) being made to pay for, WITH ITS VERY LIFE, the frivolous sexual behavioral indulgences of others.

“Abortion is THE issue”—absolutely. Bottom line is the value of life, and don’t forget God’s view of shedding innocent blood—He didn’t forgive Israel for sacrificing their babies to a false God and He is not going to forgive any other nation that legalizes the practice. Hence—enter the tribulation.

Nets Don't Disclose Bill Clinton Confronted African-American

He was an African-American lunatic. In a more civilized era, Clinton would have punched him in the nose and we would have applauded him for it.

My point is the double standard. Would you agree that if McCain’s main surrogate had done the same thing the nets would have been all over the man’s African-American identity?

Abortion is THE issue - some God v Devil stuff here, bigtime.

I think there are two driving issues in liberalism: One is abortion, the other homosexuality. They are both tied to the real issue "Who gets to declare what is good and what is evil".

Liberals definitely believe in moral relativism, it is their highest value, hence their undying support for diversity and tolerance. Those taking the narrow road are detested by them.

The real underlying value is indiscrimateNESS.

This makes me wonder if Clinton has decided to employ the old “Sister Souljah” strategy in order to paint Obama as “the candidate of blacks” thereby pointing whites to Hillary. Quite a gambit.

The point is, Clinton may WANT the nets to play this up but since the MSM wants Obama, they aren’t playing along.

Well, of course. I don't want him getting ill, just leaving the national stage in disgrace. Aside from that, if Hillary tearing up for others "picking on her" can help her win primaries,, can you imagine votes for her if Bill passed on?

Good question. Not so much immediately, but if Rush posts the link in the transcript of his show that he puts up on his website later, it will generate many hits then.

But nothing compares to being linked by Drudge. That’s happened to me about 8 times now, and the last time it did, a couple weeks ago, it generated over 300,000 hits!
