President Bush on Monday hailed Kosovo's bold and historic bid for statehood, saying "The Kosovars are now independent."
Obviously, there are a few vocal FReepers with an agenda who want us to believe otherwise, their version, which is that Kosovo is a de facto terrorist state and it’s all about muslim vs. Christian.
I am American born & bred in Fresno, California. My mother was born in Arizona and my father served in the US Army during WWII. My heritage came from Montenegro almost 100 years ago. I am an American! And that is why I am fighting FOR AMERICA in this -- not for the slimy, over-fed, corrupt politicians we elected who hide behind our flag and use this country for their own means and wealth -- and who seem to want to put a Crescent on our Flag!
As for my friend -- he's a journalist, whose (half Croat, BTW), and the Ambassador knows that. He owes the Ambassador nothing.
Let me give you an idea of what Ambassador Montgomery did.
Ambassador Montgomery writes a column on the B92 website. The day after Kosovo declared independence and the US recognized it, Ambassador Montgomery decided to write about what? Kosovo? Hell, no -- "John McCain & the US elections"! Like any Serb should give a damn about our elections when the US just gave away 15% of Serbia! Do you have any idea just how insensitive and just plain disrespectful this was? Like, "yeah, we just stole your territory, get over it & move on". Unbelievable!
Our State Department has gone rogue -- and if you think that Israel is safe in all of this, think again. Kosovo was exactly the precedent that is needed for the Palestinians and every separatist group on this planet to unilaterally declare "independence" & get recognized, whether you realize it or not.
First of all, a patriot has ethics. Your friend displays corrupted ethics in broadcasting an e-mail from a government official. You think it’s okay to share in his despicable ethics because of the opinion you have of the ambassador. I can’t believe what I am reading here.
If you feel that the territory that has now become Kosovo is rightfully yours, then I think you should go over there and fight for it. Obviously, you identify far more with the nation your ancestors lived in 100 years ago than you do with this one that has been so good to you, the U.S.A. To compare, if I had the same attitude about my European roots, I would have gone to Ireland and fought with the IRA.
In this case, the territory I am concerned about is the U.S. Embassy which represents MY country, and was attacked by YOURS.
As for Israel, are they not responsible for taking care of themselves? If they cave in to the arabs, that is their decision. The U.S. and U.N. peacemakers intervene at the invitation of Israel.
What I do realize is that the leftist thinking you represent is always eager to blame the problems of other nations on America. The U.S. did not create Kosovo, the Albanians did, so deal with them.
I have studied Balkan history for the last twenty years. And all I can see out of you, Enchi, is that you know so little about this subject that you have to insult me and "my patriotism" to even stay in the conversation. You think that it will win you points. Good luck with that.
We bombed these people mercilessly for 78 days back in 1999, killing a couple thousand of them on behalf of Albanian Muslims. And the American public was lied to about the reasons. We then ripped off their Christian heartland and let Muslim Albanians force two hundred thousand of them out that heartland, destroying over 150 ancient churches. Then, showing no respect for THEIR national sovereignty, we officially gave away their heartland to the Muslim Albanians last week -- and you expect them to respect us and "our sovereign territory" of a "US embassy"? It was just an empty building with a flag on it because we wanted to give them something to exercise their frustrations on so we could act like "the victims" of the situation for the news media.
No, I have absolutely NO respect for the US being used as the Air Force of Saudi Arabia! No, I have no respect for politicians who try to manipulate "our patriotism" to defend anything that their little globalist pals want! No, I have no respect for ANY politicians who have no respect for sovereignty, because the same politicians who are redrawing other countries borders are the same politicians who have no respect for US borders!
Take a good look -- this is what the Muslim Albanians have done to Christian Kosovo and these are the people that Bush just rewarded with "a country" by stealing Serb land to do it, just to appease the Muslim world. You think defending these Muslims is worth ONE single American serviceman's life? I do not! And if that makes me "a Leftist" in your eyes, then I will live with it.
When US State Department officials BRAG about "creating a new Muslim country on Christian land", then claim to be "fighting a war on terror", they are talking out of both sides of their mouth and someone would have to be brain-dead not to notice. Further, I can't see where these fools deserve ANY respect from anyone.
My father fought in WWII, my husband was a Vietnam vet whose wounds he (and I) still live with, daily. Both those men fought for my right to the freedom of questioning the actions of my politicians. If you don't respect that, then I would suggest that your relatives should have chosen a more totalitarian country for YOU to be born, so that you could demand others be more blindly obedient to the government and have anyone recognize that as "patriotism"!
That's where I stopped reading and this is where we part ways. Hopefully, you can return to your homeland.
Bush is an idiot.
No, you stopped reading with, "See Spot run."
Sad news that not everyone agrees with your rabid anti-American, pro-loser Serbian philosophy of life, isn’t it?
