Kosovo is northern Albania, and Albania, for historic reasons, is perhaps the most pro-US country in the world ( and unfortunately that includes the USA!). The main airport in Albania is Mother Teresa International Airport, named of course after their most famous citizen, who as it happens was not a Muslim. So while Russia makes some good points on this matter, I think the rhetoric predicting imminent disaster is probably not correct.
“The main airport in Albania is Mother Teresa International Airport, named of course after their most famous citizen”
Mother Teresa has absolutely no connection to Kosovo and was never a citizen of Kosovo! She was born and raised in Macedonia to Albanian parents (that is, her parents were from Albania and not from Kosovo)! Do a google search and you will find almost all webpages say the same...except for maybe those from Kosovo Albanians.
I do agree that the Albanians who had to endure Hoxha's Stalinist rule, will tend to be more pro-American. Of course, the lasting legacy of Hoxha is the destruction of all religion in Albania. That is why today, Albania is predominantly secular. However, this did not happen in Kosovo. And in the future, I foresee a movement from there that will try to create an Islamic 'Greater Albania'.
In another sign of the intolerance of Islam in the modern world, the inhabitants of a city in northern Albania are campaigning to prevent a statue being erected to Mother Theresa...source
