I caught Matthews speaking of Obama's 'words about words' today with this mixup. He was talking about Hillary and Obama's back and forth today. Osama's photos was only on the screen for a few seconds.
Careful, Chrissy, your Freudian slip is showing. That, and the fact Shw Who Must Not Be Named has your manhood in a lockbox...
This is actually pretty common. Last week, Jay Leno called Obama Osama by accident in his monologue.

Yet again, someone does something that hurts the dems and MSNBC fires/suspends them. But old odd keith olberidiot calls the President a liar a terrorist and a fascist and he is still employed and has issued NO apology.

During the very first minuet of (2/18/08) MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, he mentioned the current back and forth about Sen. Obama’s use of words that were taken from a speech his supporter Gov. Deval Patrick had given earlier. The subject of the comment was Senator Barrack Obama, but the picture beside Matthew’s head was of Osama bin Laden.
Later the incident was briefly mentioned and Matthews said he was sorry. Today in the media reports indicated that MSNBC had apologized, but with out explaining how this mix up took place, or who was responsible, or what the repercussions for that person were. Clearly viewers deserve to know how and why this mistake was made.
MSNBC’s inadequate response to the Osama/Obama moment, viewers deserve to know how and why this mistake was made. Presumably, graphics of the terrorist leader have some kind of OBL (Osama bin Laden) demarcation vs. graphic for the Senator, which one imagines might have a more formal title, maybe US Sen. Barack Obama. The standard here is full discloser about who made the mistake and what MSNBC is doing about it. You would think the network of the Don Imus and David Schuster scandals would know how to handle these things by now.
Given the fact that serious journalist and pundits and even candidates can’t keep the words Osama and Obama separate, and in light of the heat Sen. Obama took over his statement that he would go after bin Laden inside of Pakistan, I say ‘if you want to catch Osama you’ve gotta vote Obama’. Well, that’s what my bumper sticker says. Want one? What happed to the PMSNBC-er who captioned Niger Innis as “Nigger Innis”? I don’t recall any disciplining or repercussions.
Oh, that’s right. Innis is a black, conservative REPUBLICAN. They just couldn’t find a way to call him an oreo, I guess.
