New Delhi: India today voiced concern over the likelihood of Pakistan's nuclear assets falling into the hands of jihadi elements and sought a "different approach" based on "new global consensus" to deal with such a situation.
"The nature of the dangers which nuclear weapons pose has dramatically intensified with the growing risk that such weapons may be acquired by terrorists or jihadi groups who could threaten to use, or worse, even utilise such weapons to carry out attacks against targets which may be located anywhere in the world," Prime Minister's Special Envoy Shyam Saran said here today.
"The mounting concern over the likelihood that in a situation of chaos, Pakistan's nuclear assets may fall into the hands of jihadi elements, fired by the ideology of extremism and mindless violence, underscores how real this danger has become," he said delivering a lecture on 'India and the Nuclear Domain' organised by Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses.
Noting that the danger posed by proliferation of nuclear weapons to non-state actors is of a "different and more threatening dimension" than that from the proliferation to additional states, he said, "India has to be deeply concerned about the danger it faces" from this "new and growing threat."
I cannot believe how ignorant the Indian people must be. They live next to a country whose population of free spirited peace loving Muslims are just having some problems with some over energized youth who are upset with their president. I have heard MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, and others on NBC all say there is no danger over there. This must be so as we all know Islam is the TRUE religion of PEACE.

This is a DUH! article. I’d be surprised if a few Paki nukes haven’t already found their way to the islamofascists, since it was well known that the Paki military and security services were well-infiltrated by islamofascists.
Jihad is eternal according to Koranic doctrine. Muslims look sleepy and peaceful sometimes but Islam’s default mode is blood and the blood of Jihad. The whole world must be Muslim -— so Koran commands Jihad until this is so

Pakistan is returning to a competitive democracy in which Sharif's pro business party competes with the PPP. With Mu and the army above the fray and politically has-been, but also with extremists utterly marginalized.

Um, there are 135 million muslims living *in* India. There isn't any next door about it.
