I am really puzzled. My recollection is that Barkley was portrayed as a conservative. Indeed he was often mentioned in these forums as a “celeb” black conservative.

Rush had mentioned Barkley at some point, probably played golf with him in a pro-am tournament. Along with some Barkley comments and many thought great another conservative celeb. But Barkley was just a foul mouthed NBA player whose biggest claim to fame was spitting on a young girl at an NBA game. Even if he voted republican, you can have him, I don’t want him on my side.
