Bush does appear to be more concerned about other countries than the US. For this country, he wants open borders and amnesty for the worst of riff raff. He was even indignant that some of us want to protect this country and called us racists.

Great job giving our hard earned taxes to third world dictators and UN pedophiles, Mr. Bush!

Wow. Hearing this from Sir Bob is like seeing the sun rise in the west! This isn't the first time Geldof has said this about the President. He has been a fan since W followed through on his African policy after taking office.

As long and President Bush is handing out cash, Geldof and Bono will play nice. Turn off the cash faucet and the praise will stop.

Great job giving our hard earned taxes to third world dictators and UN pedophiles, Mr. Bush! Save that crap for the next 'Rat that gets in office.
The President has changed the terms. We are investors that want real results as a condition of further $$.
About time, I think.

"Liberals can't grasp the concept of doing something from the heart or because its right. They expect you to grandstand..." I agree with you normy, regarding the liberal penchant for grandstanding; however, a president does have certain public information responsibilities. Although none of us are happy about taxes, and we certainly hear a lot about how our money is being wasted, it's certainly nice to every now and then hear about how our money is being spent well...like in Iraq/Afghanistan. Well I'm not a big fan of our overly generous foreign aid packages, if they are having some positive impact, I'd like to hear a little about it.

Uh, he did “turn off the faucet” and the praise continued nonetheless. Next criticism?

This is not the problem of the administration or of PR. The fact is, in this day and age with the media overwhelmingly controlled by libs, there is only so much "message" on anything you can get out.
I was in the Oval Office two years ago discussing this very thing with the President. Since then, I have come up with a couple of ideas on how to counter SOME of the media's bias---but it's absolutely too late for Bush, and I'm not share I would give them to McCain, even if he asked, which he decidedly would not.

Mr. Geldof said that the president has failed “to articulate this to Americans”
Bush doesn’t blow his own horn. Its a likable trait, but one that has kept his poll numbers lower than they needed to be.
Not that he really gives a damn.

Bush does appear to be more concerned about other countries than the US. Right, that's why he's courted the hatred of the entire liberal world by trying to make sure that the U.S. wouldn't be attacked by terrorists again. Just no concern for us at all.

Thanks for your reply (I think). I am fed up with pouring billions into these countries for nothing. Then when we say enough, we are accused of being stingy.

I recall Geldolf said something similar a few years back. Basically, he said Bush is a man of his word and Clinton a liar.
To: RDTF
Say what you will about Geldof, but he “walks the walk.”

Bush has failed to protect our borders, wants amnesty and perks for illegal aliens, and calls those of us who want to protect our borders “racists” - not the actions of somebody who is concerned with our security. The greatest threat to this country does not come from Iraq but from our open borders and the illegal aliens roaming the country - so many that it has turned into an invasion.
