This is one of those unusual elections, where no matter who wins the nomination on Democrat’s side (Hillary! or O!bama), we’ll have BOTH parties nominating the presidential candidate that
1. Not qualified or suited (by experience, mindset or temperament) to be the President.
2. Wants to be the President for personal reasons and power that it gives - not for love of the country or “to do something” to the end, but rather “to be somebody”.
3. At worst, despised and, at best, intensely disliked by at least half the members of their own party.
4. This is both replay of 1960 (JFK = Obama vs Nixon = Hillary and Nixon = McCain) and 1976 (Ford = McCain vs Carter = Obama) elections.
Either way we are going to wind up with “Carter / Nixon presidency” - utter incompetency combined with overwhelming personal ambition.
This will be a sad, pathetic, nauseating and looooong campaign. The only bright side is that both parties are on the brink of splintering and destroying big parts (coalitions) of themselves, who will either move to independents or find a way to take over and capture the soul of the parties. Democrats have more coalitions to keep in line and together, so they have more to lose from the rift.
