Prosecutor Daniel Saunders has issued his list of potential government witnesses in the Anthony Pellicano case, and we’ve got it exclusively.

The government may not call them all, but there are 244 names on the witness list for the trial set to begin Feb. 27, in which Hollywood private eye Pellicano faces federal charges of racketeering and illegally wiretapping celebrities.

The list — which was obtained by this column on Monday — includes a lot of stars, studio execs and other Hollywood players whose names are familiar either because they’re famous or infamous. You decide.

What’s clear is that the prosecutors have made sure not to miss one person who’s ever been connected to Pellicano one way or another.

Claiming that celebrity private eye Anthony Pellicano has tried to intimidate a potential grand jury witness against him, federal prosecutors are seeking to have Pellicano jailed as he awaits trial on weapons and explosives charges. Pellicano, now free on $400,000 bond, last month called the father of an ex-employee "in order to intimidate and dissuade" him from testifying before a grand jury now probing "the defendant's suspected criminal conduct," according to a government detention motion. In that filing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Saunders also claimed that Pellicano "had conducted and/or was conducting illegal wiretapping." Details of the supposed bugging were not provided in the government motion. Pellicano, 58, faces a March 12 detention hearing. The private investigator was arrested last November after an FBI search of his Sunset Boulevard office turned up military-grade C-4 plastic explosives and anti-personnel grenades (which were hidden in a safe). He is also being probed for his alleged involvement in a bizarre plot to threaten a Los Angeles Times reporter who was investigating the actor Steven Seagal.

Before the deaths of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, O.J. Simpson hired Pellicano to silence a secretary who accused the football star of abusive behavior. Pellicano dug up embarrassing info about the secretary. "Anthony is one of those people who is, shall we say, a lion at the gate," said Simpson after the case was dismissed. "He is not a man to be on the wrong side of." (Dish, pg. 277-78)

We would have been a lot better off if Hitlery won the Democratic nod. Between this trial and the upcoming Peter Paul trial, she would have a lot of problems with beating McCain.

Some “private detectives” carry their activity far beyond investigating. Various types of illegal conduct including issuing threats and carrying out attacks on those who ignore the threats are often part of their activities. The military ordnance found may have been for use in some upcoming action.

Or maybe Donald Trump’s “Apprentice.” Word has been for awhile that “The Donald” Trump used Anthony Pellicano to badger, humiliate, and otherwise harrass ex-wife, Marla Maples.

The Pellicano trial is going to rock a lot of worlds. Unless Donald Trump can literally buy off everyone, I would be willing to bet his is one of the worlds that gets rocked.

Check out the web - there are posts and stories all over the place tying Donald Trump to Anthony Pellicano because The Donald wanted Pellicano’s own special brand of “investigation” into ex-wife, Maples. Why this hasn’t hit the lamestream media is beyond me. Of course, as a result of this trial...it just might!
