I got viciously harrassed by a cop in this country for walking my dog in a deserted nine-acre park at 6:30 in the morning without his (the dog’s, not the cop’s) leash. And when I made the mistake of meekly saying i always picked up after the dog, he threatened to arrest me for a “disorderly.” I’m sure the SOB would have given me a lot more than a few lashes had he thought he could get away with it.

If you don't like a law, work to change it. The policeman's job is to .enforce the law - he doesn't make the law. That's what we, your fellow citizens do. Really, if you don't want a leash law, lobby to change it. I'll be on the other side - I'm so tired of people who think their dogs are under voice control when in fact they are not... so do your homework and quit being a lawbreaker.
