We should have known McCain had something in his background that made New York Times and other lamestream media want him to be the candidate. If I was accused of something like this, I would sue the paper. McCain is reacting just like Clinton did when he had a bimbo eruption. Although, this is actually more serious if McCain gave this woman special favors or access. What a hypocrite McCain is talking about ‘influence’ etc. I wonder if this is all there is...as you pointed out he was one of the Keating five. I expect the New York Times was going to release this the day before the election, but the New Republic forced their hand.

They mentioned that in the article, noting that he was never found guilty of anything, and that the ethics committee cleared him of any wrongdoing in that matter.

So you can believe there was something to it, but in addition to it being a couple decades ago, the official record allows him to make the claim he made, whether you believe it or not.
