Funny, that it was “just about sex” when Bill Clinton was having an adulterous affair with a young intern at the workplace (sexual harassment if there ever was any)but the NYT sand bags this story for maximum impact, and suddenly “sex” is a four letter word.

Not saying whether McCain did or did not do anything. Advisors may have been saying and doing these things to prevent this sort of story EVEN IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED.

Looks like from this story they had planned for an October Surprise but were forced to print.

This is the pinnacle of the MSM we’re talking about here.

There are dirty publications about McCain coming that will keep the MSM busy for the next year.

After all, this is a Senator that the RNC decided would carry the torch. A Senator who has been in every smoky back room and coin purse of every lobbyist to hit Capitol Hill since the beginning of his pathetic career.

All we can do now is regret the very moment of stupidity that propelled this RINO to where he is today.

I’m more concerned about his willingness to get into bed with Ted Kennedy than some tart in D.C.

I forgot about the McCainiacs, probably in a moment of bliss. I should have said, “all true conservatives knew how this script would play out.”

Hardly trying to exonerate Obama.

Hoping we find out more about him as the campaign goes on.

Heck, the Clintons may be dropping it any day now.

For the most part, I agree with you but that has nothing to do with whether this story is true, or not.

This “story” is more true than you might realize. Or else the Times would not risk publishing it. There are heavy liabilities involved and they would not risk the legalities unless they were covered legally.

You can deny that fact and probably will, but there is some substance in what the MSM is doing here, which is why McCain is not fully denying his involvement. His side of the response entails his degree if involvement.

McCain will only anger the MSM into really taking him apart, like Nixon did. It was the MSM that destroyed Nixon because Nixon took them on angrily and directly. McCain is now doing just that. The RINO is in serious trouble here!

Watching his press conference now, he doesn’t seem very angry.

Can'tcha read? McCain said he's going to war with the NYT! He promised them war and war he gave them! This morning's press conference, that was a warrior infused with righteous wrath! ;)

Yeah - it’s always best to IGNORE them and NEVER give them what they want - a fight. A fight sells more papers and give them an importance that they are not worthy of. IGNORE, IGNORE!

For now, I’m giving McCain the benefit of the doubt. I’ll wait for solid evidence.

The damage is done.

“If McCain’s famous temper is shown in all its glory? More likely and also great!”

With all due respect, this is not great. McCain is the only thing standing in the way of Barak and Michelle Obama residing in the White House this time next year.

I hope that Bob Bennett is correct and this is a hatchet job by the NYT. for better or worse, John McCain is our guy now.

Michelle Obama reminds me of Winnie Mandela. She has made several statements over the course of the campaign which should alarm everyone. I for one do not wish to live in the United States of Venezuela.

I wouldn’t even give them that - just a one liner- “we all know TNYT is into smear - and I’ll leave it at that.” No lawyer, no nothing. Give them NO credence ever whether right or wrong.

Bad move on McCain's part.

There are trying to provoke him.

What he needs to do is cool off and then slowly think what would Reagan do.

There you have it. Laugh it off make a joke of it at McCain's age he should riposte with a joke and tell the NYT that he is flattered.

All McCain has to ask in a public press conference is why Hillary’s private tabloid has time to attack him when they need to be focusing on Obama’s gay lover’s drug dealer. ;)

I share your concerns about an Obama Presidency, but I also have serious concerns about a McCain Presidency. The country doesn’t yet see either clearly enough.

Ruh Roh.
McInsane may be in DEEP doo-doo. And NOT on adultry.
McCain has personally pleaded with NY TIMES editor Bill Keller not to publish the high-impact report involving key telecom legislation before the Senate Commerce Committee, newsroom insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

The paper’s Jim Rutenberg has been leading the investigation and is described as beyond frustrated with McCain’s aggressive and angry efforts to stop any and all publication.

The drama involves a woman lobbyist who may have helped to write key telecom legislation.

Then we have this........

Captain's Quarters
March 8, 2005
Sen. John McCain pressed a cable company's case for pricing changes with regulators at the same time a tax-exempt group that he has worked with since its founding solicited $200,000 in contributions from the company.

Help from McCain, who argues for ridding politics of big money, included giving the CEO of Cablevision Systems Corp. the opportunity to testify before his Senate committee, writing a letter of support to the Federal Communication Commission and asking other cable companies to support so-called a la carte pricing.

McCain had expressed interest in exploring the a la carte option for years before Cablevision advocated it, but did not take a formal position with regulators until after the company's first donation came in.

Keating Five redux. 'Mr Clean' is going down.

Hmm, what's Bob Dole doing? Maybe he can step in for nutzo. /s

I believe that the news media supported McCain in the primaries because they wanted to disenfranchise conservatives. Now that they have succeeded in persuading Republicans to nominate one of the least conservative candidates, McCain, they are turning on him. McCain was happy enough to get the endorsement of the NYT in the primaries but I hope he wasn’t foolish enough to believe that they would continue to support him in the general elections because it is clear that not only will they not support him but they are going to everything they can to ensure his defeat. As the old saying goes, if you lay down with dogs, you are going to get up with fleas.
