McCain told reporters Wednesday night when asked about the story: "I haven't seen it yet, so I can't comment."

You don't need to see a newspaper to know whether or not you committed adultery, Johnny....

He clearly committed adultery before, so I would be shocked, SHOCKED, to know that he did it again.

With a lobbyist? With a lobbyist that he just happened to write letters on behalf of her client?

McCain probably needs another free vacation in the Bahamas paid for by Mr. Keating or this new lobbyist.

I am not a McCain fan, but I believe him when he said he didn’t have an affair. You insinuate that he hasn’t denied it. When he says he hasn’t read the story yet he means that all of the other BS needs to be addressed and he hasn’t seen all of the accusations. If you don’t want to vote for him don’t but stop the holier than thou charade.

Yeah, and the fact his lawyer made the rounds on the morning talk shows and not him speaks volumes.

Well, since he had already specifically stated to the reporters that there had been no romantic relationship between them, there was no reason to assume that the story included that allegation. Hence, without seeing the story it would be rather presumptuous to attempt to comment on it.

I would like the McCain campaign use the “bully pulpit” to hammer the New York Times daily for anything they publish that is wrong or not provable or not proven or obviously biased in the leftist directions. There’s a ton of it. The object would be to ridicule and discredit “America’s newspaper of record “ so that a headline the “the NYT reported...” would be greeted about the same way as “the Enquirer reported” in terms of imputed accuracy—exactly as it should be.

Funny, that it was “just about sex” when Bill Clinton was having an adulterous affair with a young intern at the workplace (sexual harassment if there ever was any)but the NYT sand bags this story for maximum impact, and suddenly “sex” is a four letter word.

Not saying whether McCain did or did not do anything. Advisors may have been saying and doing these things to prevent this sort of story EVEN IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED.
