This question of whether or not we're a democracy comes up frequently in FR. There can be no question that we are a democracy, in the sense that we are truly a democratic Republic.What I find interesting in those discussions is that no one seems to understand exactly what "republic" means. The real definition is a county that doesn't have a hereditary monarch. That's it. Nazi Germany was a republic. The Soviet Union was a republic.
