Even though Mike Huckabee lost Wisconsin by more than 15 percentage points, he has vowed to press on to Ohio and Texas. But it would take a miracle for him to win his party's nomination.
The exact same thing can be said of Hillary Clinton.
She too lost Wisconsin by more than 15 percentage points; she too needs a miracle. And while she too vows to press on, the race is over and she has lost.
Thanks to substantial defeats in Wisconsin and Hawaii giving her a losing streak of 10 in a row Clinton has now fallen behind Barack Obama by more than 140 pledged delegates. With 981 delegates still to be elected between now and early June, it might at first glance seem possible to overcome that gap.
But it's just not so. To pull ahead of Obama in elected delegates, Clinton would have to win every one of the 16 remaining contests by margins of 15 to 20 percentage points. There is no sign that such a sweep is possible.

Rosie O’Donnell is getting ready to sing.....
I agree, it’s all over but the crying. I’m so happy to see the Clinton’s flame out, this was unexpected and a treat to behold. They did not expect it, not at all, and that’s all the sweeter.
Sorry. There’s still the convention, the Michigan and Florida delegations, the superdelegates and all the others who can apparently change their votes as they please.
This vampire will not be declared dead till the head’s cut off and the mouth stuffed with garlic.
Only a miracle can provide a truly viable candidate who will have the best interests of this nation, its constitution and its people in mind.
That savior hasn't ridden over the mountain yet. If he doesn't show up soon and deliver the miracle we're doomed to be ruled by the socialist (communist) left-wing crazies who will deliver a trillion dollars to African tin-horn dictators.
I don't know, perhaps we need a benevolent despot for a decade or so, to cleanse the central government of fat and filth.
I still do not put it past the Clintons to break out some dirty underhanded trick and steal the nomination.
My champagne is still corked
It is more than an opinion, it is a reality check. Clinton can win Texas, Ohio, and PA and still lose the pledged delegate count. She has to win big, real big, and that just isn’t going to happen.
OK, Hillary is about 150 delegates behind in regular delegates, out of 2000 needed.
Huckabee is about 700 delegates behind in regular delegates, out of about 1200 needed.
SO while they both have some catching up to do, they are hardly in the same boat.
If Hillary wins Texas, it might revive her campaign, but without Ohio and the other states she still is probably done.
If Huckabee wins Texas, it means nothing except he gets his speech on the news instead of McCain, which is bad for Republicans.
Although I never underestimate the Clintons, I really don’t see how Hillary can win the Democratic nomination. She is caught between the proverbial “rock and hard place.” A “scorched earth” strategy to win the Democratic nomination will ensure her defeat in the general election.
She has to find a way to induce Obama to commit a major error, either in one of the debates or uncover some major scandalous news on Obama. Time is running out and all she can do now is put Obama on the free throw line hoping he will miss some foul shots.
It definitely is sweet to think that Hillary may not be able to implement her socialistic agenda - at least not as the president.
Her mouth’s already stuffed with garlic.
Tonight’s debate should be fun. She’ll strike, and Obama will parry and counter-strike softly (he doesn’t need to get mad, too far ahead to show that he’s nervous about her attacks), and the former first lady will remain the former first lady.
My prediction, assuming she loses, she divorces Bill not long after the election in November.
If the Clintons have anything on Obama we should see it in the next week. Their only option left is to try and destroy him. Of course she would destroy her own candidacy in the process but her desire for power is so strong she may do it anyway.
“Im so happy to see the Clintons flame out, this was unexpected and a treat to behold.”
Out of the frying pan and into the fire I’d say.

Apropos of little:
Does anyone disagree with this?
Clinton or Obama, we’d get the SAME collection of inept, clueless, corrupt, incompetent misfits as infested The Nameless One’s cabinet.
I agree with you completely. Hillary will be the nominee IMHO, by seating FL and MI (which is going to escalate the civil war within the party), she’ll drop a political “nuclear bomb” on obama, then she’ll go after the superdelegates (she still has those 900 files and G-d knows who looking for dirt on those she doesn’t have files on)..when it’s all said and done, she is the chosen one, and will not be denied..IMHO..
Theres still the convention, the Michigan and Florida delegations, the superdelegates and all the others who can apparently change their votes as they please.
And, of course, the fat lady singing. (I hope she sings The Star Spangled Banner.)
Denying Obama the nomination under those circumstances would alienate not just black Democrats, but also the many young people drawn into politics by Obama. It would tear the Democratic Party apart and doom its chances not just in 2008, but in 2012 and 2016 and perhaps beyond.
Which is why I have been rooting for that exact scenario to happen. I'm not 100% convinced that the Clintons wouldn't try it even knowing all of the above.
I'd like to see her try it and FAIL, limping out of Denver with her tail betewen her legs.
