Of course it is, but the RINO establishment had to teach us a lesson by shoving their man down our throats.

I know this is the popular mantra, but I think the ability of non-Republicans to vote in the primaries is what got him this far.

And the fact that there were more open primaries this time than ever before. Research McCain’s Reform Institute and their advocacy for open primaries, and you don’t need to be a conspiracy theorist to see how this came about. McCain and the Pubbie establishment knew that he didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the nomination unless there were plenty of open primaries so independents could crossover for him. The party insiders know, even if McCain doesn’t, that those same independents will vote for Obama in the general. That’s why the all the angst at conservatives who aren’t willing to jump on the McCain bandwagon. The party thought we conservatives would be more malleable and fearful than we are proving to be.
