Hollow pronouncement? Let's see, the Vatican, a religious body with no army besides the Swiss guard (and if you seriously expect those guys to invade Kosovo to re-unite it with Serbia, you're dreaming), the Vatican greets the new Serbian Ambassador and says, very diplomatically, that with regard to the current crisis in Kosovo, I call upon all interested parties to act with prudence and moderation, -- namely the EU and the US need to keep their noses out of Serbia's business. What do you expect? You want the Pope to say "youse Americans and EU-ers should get out of Kosovo and not support the breakaway folks"? Not possible, he'd be mauled by the press and by those countries and by YOU saying "the Vatican should not be interfering in secular matters"
