In any random group of 15 Americans classified as "African-Americans", at least 10 will have some European ancestry, while in a random group of 20 Americans classified as "white", you will likely get 19 or 20 of exclusively European ancestry.

So clearly the African-American group will have European plus African genetics and be more "diverse."

In terms of "weakness" as measured by number "harmful mutations", it only takes one mutation - spread out amongst the group - to really weaken it. Like sickle-cell.
